Re: DUST - The Second Part

If Cauterize and Dust had been one album (with say 12-13 of the best songs from each album and a couple of bonus tracks) then it may be better than All I Was. But as it is, it's hard to justify putting either one of them individually above it.

Re: DUST - The Second Part

1. Blackbird
2. Fortress
3. AB III
4. ODR
5. Weathered
6. All I Was
7. Cauterize
8. Dust
9. Human Clay
10. My Own Prison
11. Full Circle

Something like that, all the Tremonti albums are pretty close to be honest, and I find it hard to compare them with Creed.

You can't bring up Stairway and Sweet Child and not allow Blackbird to be AB's..

It's Blackbird
This was my first thought as well.
That's probably why the thread title says "not counting Blackbird" - because Blackbird is AB's most legendary song :lol

Re: DUST Listener Reviews

Had a chance to listen to the album about three and a half times now, so my initial brief impressions (some of the opinions on certain tracks might change considerably with time though for all I know). I'll give ratings but they are purely for comparing between the different tracks. My Last Mistake ...

Re: Which AB song is the most legendary?(not counting Blackb

Well it depends what is meant by legendary - which the original post never elaborates on. If it's just which song do you like the best then there's no reason "Coming Home" can't be the most "legendary" song after Blackbird - or even above Blackbird. But to make this something oth...

Re: AB V

One of the things I thought, and I suppose was slightly concerned about, after Alter Bridge fell into the routine of regular Slash /Tremonti with an AB album every 3 years, was that it might limit the amount of growth and experimentation (for lack of a better word) in Alter Bridge music. I know that...

Re: Tremonti June European Tour

Was at the Glasgow show earlier today, great performance and energy, good selection of songs (though not that many new ones, they did mention returning later in the year so will probably play more from Cauterize next time), really enjoyable show. The setlist as best I remember (ignore if you don't w...

Re: The Little Things in "Cauterize"

Cauterize: - The brief appearance of the intro riff in the last repeated chorus ("Pure again") - What I believe to be the bass in the outro (I am awful at distinguishing between bass playing clean high notes and guitar. If not the bass then the lower lick) Dark Trip: - "How could you ...

Re: The "Cauterize" Listener Review Thread - post yours here

After 10-15 listens, I feel comfortable with this review. WARNING: It's very lengthy and in-depth, this is the type of review I would write for a magazine or music website. I decided to do a more mathematical, by-the-numbers review which was actually very fun and interesting. I think I'm gonna star...

Re: The "Cauterize" Listener Review Thread - post yours here

Recieved my preorder on Sunday but only got the chance to listen to it for the first time today. After one listen, Cauterize really stood out as my initial favourite. That outro is possibly the best part of the album. Cauterize Providence Fall Again Dark Trip Sympathy My top 5 in rough order after o...

Re: Another Heart Has Arrived!!

I can understand people wishing that Tremonti would commit more to a heavier or more metal approach with less hard rock style verses or choruses or harsh vocals... but then if you want to listen to something that is full thrash, speed metal or even death metal, there are plenty of thrash metal and d...

Re: DUST - The Second Part

Not sure why 2016 seems so surprising, after all if everything is "ready to release now" then why not just release Cauterize tomorrow and Dust in June (or on the same day, why not). With Cauterize releasing in June, I don't think it makes sense to release another album (even a "Part 2...

Re: Another Heart Has Arrived!!

I had read a few comments about the song before listening to it, but I guess I forgot that I actually like Tremonti and his "typical" riffs and vocal melodies :lol I was blown away from the opening riff (perhaps just because I was expecting something unremarkable) and I was impressed with ...

Re: DUST - The Second Part

Excellent news. The 10 song album with 10 other songs recorded and apparently in decent enough shape to play at the listening party was the most disappointing thing about Tremonti II for me. The idea of "realease a song or two at a time over the course of a few months" is all right, not th...

Re: Most Anticipated Albums Of 2015?

Unfortunately quite a few of my most anticipated albums for 2015 were also my most anticipated albums for 2014 (and one of them I originally thought could be coming 2013). But thankfully some guaranteed releases early in the year should make this a better year for me than 2014. Seventh Wonder (unfor...
