Re: importance of lyrics

To make it clear: Lyrics are probably the least important part of a song. You don't need lyrics to make music. This is absolutely true, just look at classics like Bach, Mozart, etc. Or more contemporarily - any soundtrack. However, this: And if you listen to the radio that's proof enough that all yo...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

It's even more weird that I haven't seen any of them ;)

I had a nice M&M dream today :cloud9 I even asked the question that I have always wanted to ask and probably will never have any occasion to do so. /daydreaming mode on/

Re: importance of lyrics

Finally grabbed a computer... Thank you for your comments. It is interesting to me how other people approach that. The result seems to be 50/50 ;-) I have two dedicated music-lovers around me. One of them does not understand a word in English (or maybe he knows “hello” and “thank you”), and the othe...

importance of lyrics

I would like to ask you how important the lyrics are to you in your overall reception of a song, whether by AB or any other band/singer. Most of you here are native speakers of English, I believe, so it is easier for you to know “what the song is about” after first hearing. I don’t know how non-nati...

I laugh at it even now, though she still drives me crazy sometimes :D Still, right now it's just the two of us (for three more days!) So you could say that floats my boat :D Only a sense of humour may save you ;) You made me think about good ol' times when I used to visit my bf and sometimes sleep ...

Re: What floats your boat?

Either way, I'm 37 now, so that'll take me close to retirement age ( if that's still a thing when I get there ). Sad but true. And this is how I treat the mortgage to turn it from gear-grinder to boat-floater: I think about it as an investment. I have some kind of mental deficiency which prevents m...

She's in the process of getting Swedish citizenship but in the meantime has to spend a few months here in the country at a time. So when she's here, it's for a while. Ugh... sounds like quite a challenge, if I'm to use my corpo-vocab... Still, no matter how painful it is now, in ten years' time hop...

I can't imagine us having enough to buy our own place, even one as tiny as this. We didn't have it! (Un)fortunately one of the banks willingly agreed to become an owner of next two slaves :lol For the time being 40 sq m doesn't sound so bad for the two of you... Re: What floats your boat?

It's kind of scary to sign on for a 30 year mortgage I know that pain :lol Congratulations, though! We have had a 50 sq m flat (2 rooms = 1 for kids + 1 room that was our bedroom, study and living room at the same time) and three weeks ago we moved into a 140 sq m house (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms). W...

Re: Listening to AB in a certain mood...

One Day Remains is an album I typically listen to in the summer . Blackbird is an album that I can genuinely listen to any time of year and always enjoy. But I typically listen to it when I am feeling nostalgic about memories as a teenager. ABIII I listen to a lot in the winter because that's when ...

This friggin’ weather. God, we’re waiting for half a year for some sunshine and warmth, now it’s the end of April and what have we got? Rain, rain, rain, snow, wind, snow, rain, rain, rain, wind and fucking freezing cold! There's no global warming in here. It's autumn-ing. Autumnisation. Autumnity. ...

Re: Listening to AB in a certain mood...

When I'm depressed I tend to listen to the most depressing songs.
When I'm happy, I play the most uplifting ones.

Shouldn't it be the other way round?... :headscratch
