But, like, you've done all of it with a serious intent of making music?

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread
You mean they were programmed? What does it mean they were done in post?Devil Inside You wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 4:17 am The drums were electronic on Higher Power. So if they feel mechanical its because Dango actually didn't even play on it. Scott Stevens or Marti Fredericksen(?) likely did the drums in post.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread
I don't know who mixed this, but he did not do a good job: Stapp's vocals are shockingly buried in the mix, and the drums are way too loud (which, as you all know, is also the case with most Elvis Baskette projects). The whole thing is not pleasing for the ears, which is surprising since the 2019 a...

Cheers mate, although I don't like it that much myself haha. I preferred City Burials.SHEAKENBAKEN wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 9:38 pm I saw Katatonia - Sky Void of Stars on Dolo's list and added it to mine/listened to it today. Album was a banger. Glad I discovered it through him

Re: Would you change an AB album in some way?
Are we talking one change per album or per the whole discography? In case of the former: Blackbird: replace 'Break Me Down' with 'New Way To Live' The Last Hero: get rid of 'You Will Be Remembered' Walk the Sky: remove 'The Bitter End' and 'Tear Us Apart' Pawns & Kings: drop "Season of Prom...

I had no idea that Imbruglia's version is a cover:Shortman45 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 15, 2023 4:57 pm Being an Aussie, this Natalie Imbruglia song brought back memories. Great song and Stapp did a pretty good job with it. But I agree, it’s weird hearing him sing it.

It's already 10:30 EST time, I don't think the announcement is coming today (if at all).

Re: August US Tour 2023 with Sevendust and Mammoth WVH Opening
I have a question. Why is this the last leg of the tour? Historically, they would run until October, November, even December. They would hit Europe 3 times instead of 2. They would hit places outside of Europe and North America. Why end the tour so soon? What are they gonna do for the rest of the y...

Re: Visual proof
I personally don't understand Tool. Some of it is good. The Pot is a fantastic song, but most of it to me just sounds plodding and repetitive. I even saw them live and it did nothing for me. I have to agree with you. The only full song I've heard is Schism, which I thought was boring. I heard a sni...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread
Half of what you said has to do with your personal experiences and the mentality of the people within those bands when the overratedness comes down to how much the public hypes up the artist based on the music itself. Falling in Reverse using backing tracks is a topic for a completely different disc...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread
I would definitely put Nirvana, RHCP and Slayer in the overrated camp. RATM and Oasis basically created new genres so they deserve a credit for that. Muse are very popular but they keep on changing their sound and I respect that. Imagine Dragons get a lot of shit, especially in the rock and metal co...

Re: Alter Bridge May and June Tour 2023 (Festivals, and shows with Sevendust or Mammoth WVH)
If we don't count the European tour in 2020 being cancelled due to covid, I swear I remember one occasion, when they cancelled a show in Denmark in 2007/2008. There was a guy on this board that was in a local band that was going to support AB then and he was absolutely heartbroken.

Re: Anyone want to buy a bunch of bad music on CD?
Does anyone have their CD jewel cases anymore? I moved and remembered I've got a big box full of CD jewel cases/CDs. I haven't used a CD in years, don't imagine I will in the future, but throwing them out feels like throwing out a collection spanning several decades. I used to have a shitload of th...

Re: Amps & Other Guitar Gear
Katana has totally dominated the market. I hear the Mk.II is super versatile. It definitely has. It allows you to record the signal straight via USB into your DAW and that's what got me into recording stuff that I had been stockpiling for years. The BOSS Tone Centre software is also great, you can ...
