Re: AB BPM SONG LIST

Thanks for your response, I certainly understand your post a lot more now. Although I've got a few points I'd like to make. Up tempo to me has nothing to do with the BPM but with the speed of the instruments. Given that BPM is the measure of a song's tempo, I don't really agree. The intro of Still R...

Re: AB BPM SONG LIST

I'm sorry but I don't understand your post, I think you're a bit off the mark. I'm a drummer, although a rather bad drummer, with a bad sense of rhythm, but there's no way a song like Burn it Down is 110 beats per minute (which is the kind of tempo I'd associate with a slightly up-beat rock song), I...

Re: The Game of Thrones Thread.

I agree with you. Arya and Jaime haven't done anything to redeem themselves for me yet. I'm a bit peeved that we sat to watch two seasons of the boring House of Black and White stuff for pretty much nothing in the end. Arya should be dead, I also don't how towards the end of the fight with Waif she ...

Re: The Game of Thrones Thread.

I'm really enjoying this season but at the same time I'm really struggling to care about some of the characters. Sansa hasn't done anything noteworthy for pretty much the entirety of the show, where has she got her confidence/arrogance from? I've really liked Jaime as a character although he's sudde...

Re: Myles's solo album

Please, please, please let this be true... What's so special about this? And does this mean Myles wont be the only on playing instruments on the album? Like he has someone doing the bass, drums, strings, etc while he does vocals and guitars, and possibly other instruments like piano? I don't recall...

Re: The Game of Thrones Thread.

It's really odd that the season is half over yet we've only had one scene in Dorne. There's no way the Dorne story will contribute anything to the overall story at this point.

Cover bands wouldn't exist if they had to get a label's permission to play a particular song.

Re: Cauterize Production

I really agree with your post, my review of Dust made the same point you made. The riffs lose their heaviness due to the sound of the bass drum and Elvis's overall production.

Re: The Pineapple Thief

TPT have a new album out soon, and it's got the mighty Gavin Harrison on drums. Here's a new song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxYFXw5I45A . Gavin is one of my favourite drummers so I have no doubt that I'll love this album, one of the reasons why I've so desperately wanted a Porcupine Tree reuni...

Re: Gojira

I like their new song, it's a good mix of the traditional Gojira sound with the new melodic approach they seem to be taking. The guitar parts are really good. It's probably one of the most dynamic song they've done. I still love Stranded as well, based on the two songs we've heard so far I think we'...

Re: DUST - The Second Part

I’ve held off from giving my thoughts until now as I want to give a fair opinion on the album, not just a knee-jerk reaction. I’ve probably listened to the album between 10-15 times now. My Last Mistake – I really like this song and its aggression. The melodic chorus detracts from the overall heavin...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

People in the audience at these shows are probably loving the setlist due to the amount of Creed songs in the set. I can't imagine many people are leaving thinking 'Well, it is alright, I just wish he played more of his own stuff instead of Creed!'.

Re: Evening music recommendations

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I agree with the nostalgia comment. Pearl Jam are my all time favourite band, and whenever I listen to them I'm reminded of the days when I was still in school discovering them, and it was a really exciting time. I remember saving my money to buy their albums, alth...

Evening music recommendations

Hey guys, Nowadays I find I'm quite particular about what kind of music I listen to at particular times in the day. In the mornings on my walk to work it'll be more acoustic stuff, on my walk home from work I'll listen to metal. Once I'm back from work I'll listen to whatever I feel like at the time...

Re: Myles's solo album

I highly doubt he would have recently finished recording it if he'll never release it. He obviously knew about the Guns n Roses reunion long before any of us did, I don't think it's a coincidence that he finishes recording an album shortly before all the Guns n Roses stuff kicked off. I'd personally...

Re: The Game of Thrones Thread.

The Dorne thing is just embarrassing. I don't think anybody actually cares about Dorne? They killed some characters in Dorne, literally no big deal.

Does anybody have any idea as to what's going on with the Red Woman?

Re: Walking Papers

I remember seeing a Facebook post from Barrett back in early 2015 saying they had finished recording it. I then read some interview with Duff some time later in 2015 when he said that Jeff and Ben were too busy building houses for the album to be released. Now there's a promo video for this Staticla...

I don't know whether anyone would be interested, but Jeff Angell has a new album out on 20 May, which has this song.

Mike McCready, Duff McKagan and Barrett Martin has formed a new band too.

Re: Gojira

I love their new song, it's more straightforward but has everything I love about Gojira. It's got an aggressive riff, aggressive vocals and really tasty drum fills. Judging by Facebook and Youtube comments it seems like a lot of people are disappointed, but I really like it.

Re: DUST - The Second Part

The Cage is a really interesting sounding song for Mark, until the chorus kicks in and it starts to sound a bit standard and flat, but overall I like it. It sounds more interesting than anything on Dust. Catching Fire sounds cool too, on first listen I found the transition from verse to chorus to be...
