Re: Video Game Bonanza!

^Yeah, it's actually especially dismaying that they wouldn't have a female character because they are by far not the worst when it comes to diverse representation. Obviously, this isn't the worst case of erasure ever but it's just another example of how bad gamer culture has gotten. There are a good...

Re: Video Game Bonanza!

Has anyone been reading about the little controversy Ubisoft cooked up for themselves? Apparently, according to them, creating a female assassin for their 4 player game would be far too much work for this massive developer. It's just "a reality of game development." Despite the fact that a...

I've just been reading articles on GameInformer's website. I'm too lazy to do anything else.

Re: Video Game Bonanza!

Ooh, I actually found a non-Nintendo next gen game that has me really amped: Evolve. It's from the creators of Left 4 Dead and you and up to 3 people play as a group of monster hunters with the monster being controlled by another player. It's not a pure fight though, which makes it way more interest...

... As others have said, take a chance on J but do it slowly. Sounds like you have a great friendship and there's no reason to ruin that; just build on the friendship and see if it develops into something more. . Hmmm...why take a chance on J? Get out of a crappy relationship and keep J as a friend...

Re: Guys, I need help!

Normally, I'd recommend open communication and mutual work before anything but if she's not respecting you and your life (which she doesn't, from the sounds of it), then I would break up with her. Definitely talk about it and be honest but it doesn't sound like there's a hell of a lot to salvage. If...

Re: What grinds your gears?

Insurance companies (shocking, I know). My mother is getting chemotherapy and they approved all those drugs (yaaay) but NONE of the anti nausea drugs. The hospital of course wouldn't give her those kinds of heavy meds without them so she had to wait another few hours before they could get approval. ...

Re: Video Game Bonanza!

Nintendo won hands down. So glad my brother bought that Wii U lol. I'm dying to get a Wii U now (can't believe I'm saying that). Two new Zelda games, Super Smash Bros., that Captain Toad game, Yoshi's Wooly World, Mario Party 10, Mario Kart 8, a new Star Fox, and even that new ip Splatoon all look ...

Re: Video Game Bonanza!

So, I've been too busy to watch E3 and have just barely started scratching the surface of news but Nintendo looks to be doing really well. Brand new Zelda and a few other good games have me wanting a Wii U. Unless I missed it, Sony and Microsoft didn't seem to announce anything too exciting. More of...

Re: The Movie Thread

I was fine with the teasing until that fucking scene where they're entering some place and the door literally closes just as a fight outside was about to happen. That pissed me off a bit. Other than that, I thought the movie was decent. Cranston definitely scores some points but the bland as hell ar...

Re: Slash ft. MK & The Conspirators "WORLD ON FIRE"

There's also the idea that an album is more than the sum of its parts. While they might record some great songs, they might not all fit or cohere together on one album so sometimes its best to remove good songs for the sake of the album as a whole. If you just see the album as a bag of songs, then y...

Re: Video Game Bonanza!

^I think so but I'm not sure. I don't have one. Glad to hear the graphics are as good in play as they look in video! It's honestly one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen. Definitely seems like the prettiest next gen game so far. The sheer graphics might not be the best from the Wii U but the...

I don't think any "next gen" game has made me want a new console more than Mario Kart 8. Has anyone played it?

I've only heard bad things about it but Seth MacFarlane's humor doesn't appeal to everyone, so who knows.

Re: Books/What are you reading?

I'm reading these big, fat, dense books right now. One is called The Recognitions by William Gaddis, which is this 1000 page modernist novel about art forgery. It's really cool. The dialogue is interwoven with the descriptions separated only by hyphens, so the characters emerge and submerge within t...

Re: What grinds your gears?

This cuts through gear grinding but yeah, that case and the state of women in general across the world in the patriarchy is absolutely maddening. We need feminists now as much as we ever did.

Re: Video Game Bonanza!

Has anyone actually played Watch Dogs yet? As of now, I've largely been seeing a pretty negative reaction with people claiming it was overhyped, people saying they were disappointed it's so unpolished after the delays, people annoyed that this has been marketed as true next gen, etc. People are even...

Re: The Movie Thread

I liked Godzilla too but without spoiling anything, try not to get too hyped about Cranston's part in it. He does well but he's not the main character the trailers imply he is. He has a smaller role.
