Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine
Here's my track-by-track review, I've given this album a good few listens and my impressions have definitely changed since the first listen: Bringer of War - I really enjoy how this song starts. The intro drumming with the riffs is typical thrash metal. The riffs keep on getting more intense prior t...

Re: Soundgarden and Chris Cornell
I'm gutted by Chris Cornell's death and I cannot stop thinking about him. I think it would be useful to document some of my thoughts. In my life I've been fortunate in that I've never really had to deal with death. Of course, elderly relatives have passed away and I've lost pets that I loved, but I...

Re: The Official BLACK STONE CHERRY Thread
I find it difficult to say bad things about these guys, because I do really like them as a band and they're one of my favourite live bands (seen them six times). When Folklore and Superstition came out I was crazy about them. This was also around the time I joined this forum and couldn't think of a ...

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine
I wouldn't normally consider myself a fan of Tremonti's solo work, I consider it to be wanna-be try hard metal riffs with Tremonti's typical song structures, but I'm actually enjoying these two new songs. I was quite pleased with the newest one, the pop/punk sound is quite refreshing and is somethin...

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"
I can't be the only one who thinks both songs we've heard so far have just been a bit...boring. Waited years for Myles to release a solo record and now that it's here the tracks released so far have completely killed any hype I had I agree. The songs that have been released and nice, pretty songs, ...

Re: Myles Kennedy Solo Tour 2018
It's a shame to hear that a lot of fans struggled to get tickets. I'm personally not too bothered on going, so I had forgotten that they went on sale. I do not know why artists/their management do not take measures regarding this, it seems to happen rather frequently. Even with Pearl Jam with their ...

Re: Walking Papers
I've only listened to the new album twice (and not very attentively), but the ballads on this album are incredible. The rockier songs haven't really stood out to me yet. I feel they lack the infectious grooves which the songs had the on the first album, I'm thinking of Your Secrets Safe With Me, Cap...

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"
Pleased to hear the album is coming out soon. For some reason I thought it would come out towards the middle of 2018, so March is a pleasant surprise. I look forward to hearing it. Hopefully he'll do a UK tour as well.

Re: Magazine - Interview
I'll have to look at those comments, because I thought it was a fair enough review. I guess some people probably had to the time of their lives at the RAH, so it would have been difficult to read reviews which had some negative elements. Whilst I thought Before Tomorrow Comes was improved with an or...

Re: Royal Albert Hall Setlist/Speculation
Did Myles have any Mylesesque moments between songs? It's not a memorable AB show unless he's being naturally goofy. As previously mentioned, there was a selfie in broken wings. I personally thought it was off-putting but I generally dislike selfies anyway. Myles was towards the side of the stage, ...

Re: Royal Albert Hall Setlist/Speculation
Just going to post some quick thoughts on my mobile as I'm still in London. I'm a former big fan of AB but my interest in them has strongly faded after TLH, but these two gigs were exceptional. I know the people who didn't get to see these gigs will be watching YouTube videos, I've seen a few and th...

Re: Royal Albert Hall DVD
What interview is that quote from? I know it sounds very cynical, but this is quite an ambitious project for a band like Alter Bridge, given that they aren't known for their ambition when performing. I seem to remember Gavin Harrison from Porcupine Tree saying that Royal Albert Hall charge an awful...

Re: Ignite My Insanity Discussion
I want to like this band as I've heard some crunchy metal riffs in the teasers and I'd like to hear Flip in a more metal context. But nothing on the first album really grabbed me and their new song is awful. It starts off promising, until 25 seconds in where it just jumps to a boring and lifeless ch...

Re: ALTER BRIDGE BOX SET
I don't post on here very often and haven't been keeping up with this issue but it's absolutely absurd that he's blaming typos on the band. I work in a professional environment and frequently draft written correspondence to my clients and other third parties, proof-reading your work is essential and...

Re: The Official BIG WRECK Thread
I'm surprised at the slightly lukewarm reaction to this album. It instantly grabbed me, whereas Ghosts is yet to click with me. I just want to quickly say that Useless together with A Speedy Recovery and Motionless is the absolute highlight of the album. Great instrumentals together with strong melo...

Re: The Official MASTODON Thread
http://www12.zippyshare.com/v/L43HxBak/file.html this is awful :( Why? I really like it, it's catchy and Troy is pushing his vocal abilities on this track. Mastodon have a history of more straightforward songs such as Curl of the Burl and Once More Around the Sun so I don't find this song surprisin...

Does anyone know why Amazon.co.uk says the album has been delayed until 17th February?

Re: The Official BIG WRECK Thread
I really enjoy everything I've heard so far, A Speedy Recovery is my favourite. However, they're yet to surpass Albatross (the album) for me, nothing from Big Wreck has pulled me in like the beauty of songs such as Albatross, Wolves, Glass Room and Control. Ghosts is a good album but I think it's a ...
