Re: Creed V Wishlist

Anybody else feel Mark isn't giving Creed enough attention? I mean, they were supposed to record last month and this month. But he seems more preoccupied with his solo CD. I don't think he's not giving Creed enough attention, I just think it's a side-effect of Mark taking his time with the album, a...

Re: Tremonti Project: Previews

I don't wanna pick apart your post, but I think if he had given up after Creed he would have been one of the most hated and/or forgotten rock musicians of all time. I mean, Creed were hated on pretty heavily back in the day (and still are now to an extent) and he was half responsible for songs like ...

Re: Creed V Wishlist

Is there really a need for insults? It's only music we're talking about. Go enjoy All I Was, I'm glad you're happy about life, now how about letting others be without being rude and judgemental?

Re: Tremonti playing at the Social TONIGHT!

The intro and verses to Brains are awesome, really dark and heavy, although I think they should have kept with the dark and heaviness during the choruses, it's a shame they didn't. The pre-choruses also sound a bit iffy in comparison to the verses and choruses. I'm sure it sounds better on the album...

Re: Tremonti playing at the Social TONIGHT!

Holy shit the bridge to Decay is awesome, and that's coming from me :lol. So You're Afraid was alright, the bridge sounded better without the overly loud bass drum in the previews. I think Mark's vocals overall are pretty good, but him and Erock need to work on their harmonies, because I don't think...

Re: Tremonti playing at the Social TONIGHT!

I've listened to the songs a few more times. All I Was has grown on me, it's not that bad. Wish You Well will probably be one of my favourites on the album, it's just a shame it's so short. I really like Things I've Seen, I was a bit bored by the preview but it's much better in context to the whole ...

Re: Tremonti playing at the Social TONIGHT!

Well.. I'm just not impressed by double bass in this kind of hard rock genre anyway, I just don't think it suits the song alot of the time, and is used simply to make the track heavier. I really like drummers who not only play to the song, but add another dimension through their groove, uses things ...

Re: Tremonti playing at the Social TONIGHT!

I really enjoyed Wish You Well, although I do agree with chtimixeur in that it's perhaps a bit repetitive lyrically, the instrumental section was brilliant though. I wasn't too fond of All I Was, I think the quality of the recording is a factor though. I did like Garrett's drumming during the verses...

Re: Top 10 Best Male Singers of All Time

I probably can't reach 10 singers, but we'll see how this goes 1) Chris Cornell - Such a versatile voice 2) Eddie Vedder - His range isn't strong, and his voice has seen better days, but he conveys such emotion with his voice 3) Myles Kennedy 4) Layne Staley 5) David Coverdale - This guy is like 60 ...

Re: Tremonti playing at the Social TONIGHT!

Garrett is alright, there's no denying he can play drums, but I wouldn't say there's anything particularly special about him. He plays double bass, and he hits hard. His technique is rather horrible from what I've seen from him live, I can't make out like I know alot about decent technique but he's ...

Re: Creed V Wishlist

It just shows that they can't really win. If they take their time, they run out of time, and end up rushing. If they just rush it from the outset they've got an album which is rushed. They are always going to have deadlines to work with, especially with the schedule they have going. Even if they did...

Re: Creed V Wishlist

I'm not exactly sure why you think they'll end up rushing.. They haven't recorded anything or decided about a producer, so they will end up rushing it? Surely this shows they're taking their time and not rushing? Either way I don't really mind, I liked Full Circle, it did feel a bit rushed, but I wo...

Re: The Official PORCUPINE TREE Thread

I've been trying to get into Porcupine Tree for a few days now, but I don't have a clue where to start. I've liked prog since listening to bands like Dream Theater and Mastodon but haven't really looked into it much, then I started watching videos of Gavin Harrison drumming, and liked alot of what I...

They'll probably stream the entire album a few days before release, everyone seems to do it nowadays.

I don't like Broken Wings, Before Tomorrow Comes, Shed My Skin, Watch Over You, Wonderful Life, One Last Breath, WAWO, Inside Us All, Hide, Don't Stop Dancing and Lullaby.

That list did turn out longer than I thought it would though :lol

Re: Tremonti Project: Previews

Hmm, I didn't really like New Way Out, I thought it was quite average. But then again, I've never really liked any of the AB/Creed ballads, with the exception of Pity for a Dime, Wash Away Those Years, In Loving Memory, Brand New Start and What's This Life For. New Way Out just didn't click with me,...

Re: Rarities & B-Sides

I understand what's been said regarding the guys having influence over the production, and I don't doubt that at all. My knowledge of recording process is very limited, but Elvis is still the guy that produces the albums, he's still responsible for the horrible sounding AB albums, littered with voca...

Re: WDTTW live?

It seems strange to me that Myles wouldn't want to do it, considering he works with Slash, where the setlists are alot more flexible, and could possibly be more vocally demanding, I would have expected him to be the most flexible in terms of wanting to change about the setlist? Slash's setlists have...

Re: Tremonti Project: Previews

Amazon seem to have lowered their price, £9 now, not bad at all. So seeing as tomorrow is the day fret12 are ending the special edition offer, I'm guessing us overseas folk shan't be getting it. Ah bollocks, I ordered it from Amazon, then saw it was cheaper at Play, cancelled that, ordered it from ...

Re: Creed V Wishlist

I was just thinking about the ABIV thread before thinking about what I'd say for this thread, and it's strange, because with Alter Bridge I almost have more expectations, and expect better things from them, because they try to be a more complex band than Creed, try to seperate themselves, etc, and t...
