Re: What are you watching right now?

A friend lured me in to watching The Man In The High Castle on Amazon. It's based (loosely) on a Phillip K Dick novel in which the Axis won WW2. I was a big reach in the first place to forget history and willingly go along with the story, but the opening sequence is so surprising and shocking and ch...

Re: AB VI Speculation

Absolutely. That's the definition of a band. I personally would love to hear Brian write parts. I'd bet we'd have some Faith No More sounding AB tracks. I totally agree with you Drew, but I think that's sadly the definition of a band 20 years ago when they could support themselves by writing a grea...

Re: Naplam Records US- Limited Edition Package Royal Albert Hall

Can someone please post a link for this discussion that has been taking place on Facebook? I sniffed around and couldn’t find it. It was deleted because folk were getting salty about people daring to question what was going on with an obviously copied autograph. The defence force took it as a sligh...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

That being said, they do have a 2.0 mix and I haven't heard it yet... but I wouldn't bother listening to the 5.1 mix on a 2.0 set. I would then just choose the 2.0 option. The 5.1 is intended for somebody with five channels and a subwoofer. Now, did they do it perfectly? Not even close; the low-fre...

Re: A Dying Machine Novel Pre-order/Discussion Thread

It was probably a whole lot easier for Mark to sign all the cards and for the publisher to insert them into the books rather than to have all the books delivered to Mark (or Mark to go to the printers) to sign the real things. This way was probably a lot faster for delivery, too. If...IF...Mark ever...

Mr. Slash wrote:Btw, did someone already mention that they once again messed up one song title on the CD? At least my media player read out "The End is Near" for track nr. 13. :D

Yup. Had to manually edit that one title, and then edit every track from Alternative to Hard Rock.

Violinists deserve stalkers, too

Hmm. Was that really a good idea, Muffin? :shifty LOL she could always use another fan. Anyway, I'm doing a little mini-project of taking the BD audio, doing a little mixing on the low end (as others have mentioned), and going to save those clips to MP3 instead of the CD files and their mix. That o...

Re: Naplam Records US- Limited Edition Package Royal Albert Hall

The postcard was separate from the rest of the authentically signed postcards. It is clearly a facsimile signature. I've collected for years. It's easy to see a facsimile on something like this. I'm not saying Mark or the band did something wrong here. I'm guessing Napalm ran out of the "signe...

Re: Naplam Records US- Limited Edition Package Royal Albert Hall

There was a big blowup on Facebook about this. Yes, Roel, Mark always signs his own stuff, but it's pretty clear that a lot of people got color photocopies of Mark's signed photo in their box sets from Napalm instead of individually signed photos. I didn't chime in on the FB thread, but I got one of...

Damn good seeing a lot of the gang checking in!

Hey Drew! Was thinking about you when Myles announced his new tour dates and KC was as close as he's getting to me. Wondered if you might go to that one. How ya been? Hope the new job is going well.

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

The CD mix is dreadful. Ripping the Blu-ray audio to my PC then playing it in my car was far superior; not just quality (actually I think at the quality level this is the worst of their concert albums), but the overall mix as well. I will have to try that. My first listen was the Blu-Ray through a ...

Re: Steve Perry Releases First New Song in Nearly 25 Years

I'm with ya, TF4L. I'd go nuts to see Neal and Steve together again, but I don't really see it happening either. There was so much momentum after their Rock n Roll Hall of Fame ceremony when they appeared together for the first time in like 20 years and they got along fantastically and Steve was so ...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

I got my AB order on Saturday (but my Napalm order, which is coming from 35 miles away, is still delayed. Ugh.) but didn't have time to sit down with it until this morning, which was painful since I'd avoided watching any of the previews after the first one and I was dying to get to the real thing. ...
