Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Shea, honestly, if you say it like that, then it's pretty darn close.

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

So, I will be seeing Owl City in October at the Anaheim House of Blues. I'm pretty excited for that as always for a concert. Probably the first non-rock concert I've been to (unless seeing Myles acoustically counts as non-rock).

Re: The Official BLACK STONE CHERRY Thread

Wasted potential because they clearly have talent but continue to put out garbage album after garbage album since the 3rd one. I respectfully disagree that Kentucky was a garbage album. I put Kentucky as almost on par with Folklore and Superstition. Almost. Mark Tremonti just advertised the new alb...

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine

I don’t foresee the book coming out when the album does. I’d imagine it will take a while to finish and do all of the edits necessary before publication. At least he didn’t hire GRRM to do it... Wouldn't Mark go over the moon if he was able hired that dude to write this novel? Probably the budget h...

Re: Myles Kennedy Solo Tour 2018

Here's what I think of the possibility of whose going to be the backup band. This is based on a big wild massive guess on my end, but here goes. I think there's a 50% chance that the backing band is Tim Tournier and Zia Uddin (the guys that played the bass/drums of the album) 40% that is may be the ...

Re: The Official BLACK STONE CHERRY Thread

I heard one or two songs. After the last album took a step back toward their first two in sound, I was hopeful. But it's clear to me they will never surpass those two albums. What a shame. So much wasted potential. I don't know why you have to word it as "wasted potential." You can say th...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

The World Series of Poker is happening around that period. You think you got around $1,000-$2,000 to spend on a tournament? Perhaps run it up and land a six-figure score? That sorta of long shot? That used to be my dream to play and win a lot of money in the WSOP and then the dream died as I got old...

Re: The Official BLACK STONE CHERRY Thread

I heard it. I think it's an ok album. I didn't quite enjoy it as much as Kentucky. Maybe, I'm not a fan of the blues influence here as I thought I would. I probably would want a little bit more of that southern rock (is there a big of a difference between southern rock and blues rock?) meets that mo...

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

i like how he always talks about running out of ideas but seems to have no problem releasing album after album Yeah, but there's going to be a limit on how fresh his ideas is going to be moving forward and when push comes to shove, one of those future albums is going to get affected by it and it wi...

Re: What are you listening to right now?

Black Stone Cherry's Family Tree album. The 9th album released in 2018 that I have listened to. So it's been two years since they released Kentucky, and Kentucky was a great album from start to finish. I wasn't feeling some of the songs that they released so far from Family Tree (although Dancin' in...

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine

Maybe Napalm or someone elese paid the bribes to make Tremonti a regular guest in the Octane playlist. Following up on this thought, you may be onto to something with that notion. From that Octane playlist thingamabob, the first band that came up was Skindred and they are currently signed to Napalm...

Jen Ledger's Ledger EP. It's going to be interesting to see how Skillet's drummer/backup vocalist is as a songwriter.

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine

I heard Sevendust's Dirty and quite frankly, when it comes to sound quality, I find that there was no difference in sound quality/mixing than any other heavy stuff that they have done.

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine

Cheers Dando for the link and the guide to hear it. Yeah, I definitely hear certain throwbacks to the mid-00s. Reminds me of Foo Fighters' No Way Back. Very upbeat. Much much different than the usual sorrowful-like/pessimistic vibes that Mark would often throw in his music. I like it. This next thou...

Re: What are you listening to right now?

Oh yeah, I enjoyed the Ember album. Probably the only other album I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish, next to Year of the Tiger. I don't think it's as great as Dark Before Dawn (I just like that album a lot, 2nd favorite behind Dear Agony), but I thought it is a good follow-up. The songs are ...

Re: What are you listening to right now?

Breaking Benjamin's Ember album. The 8th album released in 2018 that I have listened to. Woot to new Breaking Benjamin. The tracks they released so far hasn't really excited me as much as the Dark Before Dawn tracks, but it's bound to be better than the tripe that their contemporaries have been rele...

Re: What are you listening to right now?

Three Days Grace's Outsider album. The 7th album released in 2018 that I have listened to. Well, I didn't enjoy their last album which was the first one with their new singer. I probably will not enjoy this one as well, but I would love to be surprised.
