Re: Wouldn't You Rather

I mean... I'm not gonna stir up a hornet's nest, but give Tool a chance man, you'll appreciate it a lot more than the likes of Ed Sheeran.

I'm not saying that he's a bad musician or perfomer. I just think that the music that he puts out is mostly 'lawsuit-worthy' and pretty terrible.

Re: Wouldn't You Rather

^^ I honesty didn't know that they ripped it off of something. All I can say is that I heard the track and I found it tolerable enough to hear the whole thing and I felt no desire to change the radio station (that's not the case when I hear various bands like Tool, Marilyn Manson, Korn, etc.) You'd...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Isolation is probably their strongest and most successful single. Punches you right in your face and keeps you entertained until the end. They haven't had anything like that ever since.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Would a Creed tour generate more income than an AB tour though? I feel like this would be the only motivation for a comeback since they're still buying themselves from that Wind-Up deal.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Pay No Mind sounds cool on an acoustic. Smoke On The Water in Drop D though... Why, Mark? :lol :mtrocks That's actually Eb and he played it wrong though. Isn't that around 2:12 like a initial version of With Arms Wide Open? And for people who say that ATP sounds good on acoustic..... really? Never ...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

While She Sleeps released a nice band shirt regarding the Spotify royalities: IMG And...... what does it have to do with what I said? I know what money people make off Spotify and that physical music doesn't really sell anymore. Merch is a good way to compensate for that, that's for sure. What I wa...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

I wouldn't mind if my song was leaked. This stuff is gonna be released anyway, and people are still gonna stream it on Spotify, watch on YouTube and I still won't see a damn penny from it.

Is he going to do more touring with ADM? I thought he was done with this album and now it's all about WTS and AB.

What do you think, man? I like the bit in the middle where they do a polyrhythm between Jones and Chancellor and the outro obviously, but other than that, a pretty typical Tool track.

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread

There is a live version of metalingus with Tremonti's guitar sounding decent? Live from Amsterdam sounds quite good but I get what's you're saying. Part of the problem might be the fact that the riffs there are quite cut up and they get lost in the mix. Another thing is that the sound for the entir...

Re: How Many AB Shows Have You Attended?

2nd June 2011, Warsaw, ABIII cycle. First time for AB and already headlining an festival. This was at a student festival and everbody had no idea who AB were and came just to check them out. It all turned out to be one of the biggest surprises in the career of AB and they thanked people in a couple ...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Wow, didn't expect this thread to turn into political turmoil :O Pay No Mind is decent, I really enjoyed the breakdown and the riffing in overall but it feels like the melodies and the voice fall a little bit short with the new material. Some of those lyrics feel a little bit 'spoken through' than s...

Ahh, okay. But it's crazy to think that Weathered sold 887k in the first week and now you have albums sell 5-20k.

That's the first week only? I think that nowadays it also includes Spotify, Deezer plays etc. so he hasn't really sold 5k copies.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

I see no difference to be honest. All of them - Tremonti, AB and Stapp have a balance of riff-based songs and ballads, they have pompous choruses and groovy verses. None of them have really done anything different than that. Epics tend to sound similar, but surrounded by radio-friendly material, you...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

To each his own. Tremonti's albums all sound the same to me, the songs are insanely formulaic, and they have zero replay value after a while. That's what happens when you release so many albums in a short period of time, rush the writing process and always work with the same producer. For me, Fortr...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

It's a great album for his standards. Nothing overly cheesy, decent guitar riffs and catchy melodies.
