Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album
This Side of Fate is clearly epic, SMAL isn't IMO I didn't even notice he put SMAL as a definite epic. It's a great song, but it's in the same realm as every other first single. Just a good, heavy, straightforward single. Only thing that sets it apart from the likes of ATP, WYR or Isolation is that...

Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album
I can imagine people not recognizing the Epic on ABIII, since the complete album happens to be Epic Agreement would be on Words Darker as the epic but Slip Into the Void definitely has some epic qualities so I count it in the epic category. So let's see the epics: ODR- The End is Here (arguable) BB...

From Facebook "Anthony Keefer

Next song to drop will be “Dying Light”. Was at Marks songwriting clinic today in Toronto and that’s what he said."
Is this an official radio single like WYR or just another pre-release single?

Re: 15th anniversary of One Day Remains
Well there were 5 b-sides (4 recorded) that we all know of: Save Me, Cruel Sun, Solace, Breathe, and On My Way Now. I remember hearing that Unable to See by tremonti is really old and I could see how it could fit into the ODR album.

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019
I can attest from watching many AB live videos that they don't use backing tracks. You can always hear the imperfections or slight differences performance to performance in the instruments and vocals. Also here's a video from the Philly crowd singing Open Your Eyes, real heart warming to have been p...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
So indoctrination has a growl/scream (there was some mention of this in a listening party post) and killer drums? Sounds interesting
Which song has the galloping speed metal part? Native son?

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019
I'm not trying to bad mouth Skillet at all. They put on a great show. John has lots of great energy and is great at working a crowd. They just have a very different philosophy when it comes to doing shows than AB.

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019
I didn't notice the backing track but I don't have the best ears for picking these things up. It was my friend and people around me who noticed. I thought he puts on a good show with lots of energy but I'd take Brian and Myles for musical ability any day. To me: musical skill > showmanship. I'd see ...

Re: Philadelphia 9/25/19 @ the Met with Skillet
The venue was beautiful but Merch table was horribly placed and too busy so I never got anything. I was in the pit about 5 rows of people back from the stage in the middle. I wouldn't put too much stock in the crowd not knowing songs because of the lack of radio play. WMMR never plays AB (at least I...

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019
What the fuck are you talking about ? Backing track for vocals during an AB gig? This was during Skillet's set, not AB. As for the bass in Skillet, yeah, there are songs where John doesn't play bass and play the role of frontman more and even when he does play it, it's really not there. It's not li...

If they were backing tracks for AB, we wouldn't be talking about Myles' sickness or it would really stand out as his sick voice wouldn't match the backing vocals. I f...

Posting my review of last night's show here too: My review: Dirty Honey: I was impressed with Dirty Honey. They put on a good show without all the flash and production. The guitarist has some skill and the singer has a great voice. I can definitely see this band going places. I definitely enjoy them...

Surprised with a crowd like that they didn't pull out White Knuckles or Bleed it Dry. Hell, if that's the fortress tour and you are going to do an epic song, they could have done Fortress

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
So just my guess on themes for the album: Walk the Sky is an answer to ABIII in that in AB3 Myles had lost his faith in Christianity but now in WTS Myles has found peace of mind in "following his bliss" (if anyone is unfamiliar with Joseph Campbell, I suggest watching or reading Hero with ...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
So on "In the Deep"'s lyrics, after reading that Myles was influenced by Eastern Philosophy and thinking about the verses I realized that the song is about meditation: "I am still as the moment I hold in my hand I can't let go Here and now, time and space, the illusion so grand And th...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
It's hard to make out the lyrics of One Life especially once the crowd started cheering. It sounds like a nice opening especially into the bang that is Wouldn't you Rather's intro. I like the sound but need to listen in person (Wednesday here we come) or from the album to be able to have a better op...
