Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........

Good show in NYC last night, but aside from 4 new songs, it was "same ol' same ol'" from AB. I've seen them on every album tour and I am seriously getting sick of so many of their songs they play live. I've seen them a total of 10 times now (starting in 2004) and I've now STILL not seen 3...

Re: DUST - The Second Part

Haha I have too much respect for him to do that. Plus I could never do them justice as he is years ahead of me as a song writer. The guy could probably fart more beautiful melodies than I can write on a guitar.

Re: DUST - The Second Part

Yep, artist session. I think NYC was one of the first stops and I said, "Mark, I hate to ask but I keep seeing you say in interviews how excited you are for people to hear the chorus in Dust. Is there anyway we can hear it?" So he went through his computer and let us hear the highlights an...

thanks! the others I can't ID. I've heard snippets of dust but don't know the song names, just that I'm really excited for that release as well!

This album is so dark and melodic...definitely exceeded my expectations! Radical Change is a great opening track.

Re: PRS Archon and Mesa Dual Rectifier Clips

I have a 2010 Multi Watt Model. Those early 90s Models sound amazing, but I think Mark's is from the later 90s or newer Solo heads. The Triple Recs in general sound different to me than the Dual Rectifiers as well. I know Mark's got some other amps that were modded, so I wouldn't doubt it. Part of m...

Re: PRS Archon and Mesa Dual Rectifier Clips

I'd agree with you. The Archon can get some additional note articulation if I were to bump the mids up a bit and increase the presence. It would then start to get a little fizzy though. To me the Dual Rectifier is flubby and needs an overdrive in front of it to really get it sounding good. Hearing M...

Re: USA Fall/Autumn Tour 2014

Clips posted here: http://thealterbridgenation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2430 I think something happened with Cornford regarding their licensing and quality control. At some point in 2013 they had stopped producing them and were looking for another manufacturer here in the States. Not sure...

PRS Archon and Mesa Dual Rectifier Clips

I get a lot of questions on the differences between the Archon and the Dual Rectifier so I figured I'd record them. I think the Archon is a smoother amp similar to the Uberschall but I enjoy playing both for different reasons. The Mesa has some more mids and fizz to it which would sit better in a mi...

Re: USA Fall/Autumn Tour 2014

It's certainly preference. To me the Orange amps cut a little more through a mix and are brighter than an archon; the Tiny Terror and Rockerverb 50 I played at least. Looking at your last sentence though I fully understand what you mean now. The 5150III and Mark V are a little brighter and maybe hav...

Re: USA Fall/Autumn Tour 2014

Gotta admit.. not digging the archon in the mix with his recitifer. Wish he'd just stick with the voodoo v-rock/dual recto for rhythm tones and something else for his leads like the bogner or two rock. I haven't played one, but I'm not completely up on the Archon from the clips I've heard. It has a...

It's an analog board from the 70's I think, so they're pretty rare.

Glad to hear they played Bleed it Dry. They ran through it during soundcheck on Friday along with Still Remains. Both sounded great.

Re: USA Fall/Autumn Tour 2014

That was my 7th time seeing AB and the second time at Starland. They were great, but like everyone else said they were LOUD. I was right up by the rail in front of Mark and couldn't hear Myles guitar much at all. Most of what I heard from Mark was coming straight from his amp and monitors. The drums...

If I get some time I'd be interested in recording some guitars depending on which songs you want to do. I don't have a bass though so someone else would need to do that lol

Re: USA Fall/Autumn Tour 2014

The show in NY is not in the city, it's out on Long Island about an hour or an 1.5 hours from midtown. I'd look for a hotel out there and see what you can find. Hopefully one of the guys from LI can suggest some places to stay, but don't stay in Manhattan or New Jersey as they aren't close enough to...
