Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine

Take You With Me might be one of the most fun songs Mark has ever written. Can't wait to jam to this driving with the windows down in the summer.

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine

Nice to hear some clean parts in the bridge. I hope Mark actually brings an amp with a clean channel out on tour.

Re: Life Must Go On Lyrics..

Much appreciated, everyone. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place. Just thought I couldn't go wrong posting an Alter Bridge question in the Alter Bridge Nation forum. Thank you! You're not wrong at all, you're on the right site. The "Alter Bridge" subsection of the forum is just a bit...

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

Yea, I'm not too big on the mix and production either. I thought Haunted By Design was done rather tastefully but on Devil you have an electric guitar left, and electric guitar right, and it's all just very loud. Year of the Tiger also doesn't sound very pleasant to listen to either. Haunted By Des...

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

The main thing that has slightly disappointed me is that it's not quite as stripped back or authentic a blues/jazz sound as I was expecting. I was hoping for a roomy, warm and natural sound with less in the way of overdubs or studio meddling. Perhaps I was hoping for some slower and more mournful s...

New Album from Vertical Horizon

Not sure if anyone on here was ever into Vertical Horizon back in 2000 when they dropped "Everything You Want", but the band has been consistently making great music ever since. Just last week they released a new album entitled, "The Lost Mile" and I really think it's one of the ...

Re: Life Must Go On Lyrics..

I think the second line is "We all have our mistakes" but I'm not 100% sure, and I can't figure out the first. This also might be better served in the Alter Bridge section of the forums. Perhaps a mod could move it?

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

I agree there's a lot of familiar sounding stuff as well, but to be fair, the guy has written music in a lot of styles. I'll totally agree with this. I guess our expectations are high because he's shown such range before. Perhaps it's a bit unfair to expect him to keep shattering the ceiling. For m...

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

I like the songs, but that's just it. I like them. I'm not wowed by them, there's nothing interesting about them to me. Haunted by Design is probably my favorite of the bunch, but I'm still not blown away by it. The fact of that matter is, just because he changed up the instrumentation doesn't make ...

Re: Coming Home Soundalike?

I've seen closer ones tbh. Closer to AB songs or other songs in general? Closer similarities between songs in general. Oh definitely. I was just mentioning this particular one to my band mates because I thought it was funny that it was such a similarity between a band from the U.S. and another in I...

Coming Home Soundalike?

A loooooooooooooong time ago, someone posted an mp3 on here (or was it a youtube video?) of some Italian pop artist that had a song with a section sounding near identical to the bridge of Coming Home. The instrumentation was softer, but the chord progression and melody was almost identical to the pa...

Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album

I'm torn between ODR and Blackbird for best album, though I tend to lean toward ODR because it's just such a banger from start to finish. Weakest album is definitely TLH for me.

Re: Unable To See

I suppose I'll add my 2 cents in. The song seems purposely vague, but a lot of Mark's lyrics are. I think he likes the "open for interpretation" thing. But to me the song is about living in the moment and trying to overcome living in the past. Well, I don't think that I'll ever know What ...

Re: ALTER BRIDGE - Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities

I have a hard time believing the album has no overdubs. It sounds very full. Where did you hear that Edit: Ok maybe I remembered incorrectly. I guess it is just one. The album mostly definitely has a overdub on the guitar; at least one track playing the same part. You don't get that kind of sound o...
