Re: ALTER BRIDGE - Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities

I have a hard time believing the album has no overdubs. It sounds very full. Where did you hear that Edit: Ok maybe I remembered incorrectly. I guess it is just one. The album mostly definitely has a overdub on the guitar; at least one track playing the same part. You don't get that kind of sound o...

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

I think the song could actually be seen as being from his mother's perspective. You were right! :bow Ah, thanks for that quote about his mother's perspective. I wondered about "I got my kin to save." which wouldn't make sense from a little boy's perspective, seemed broader, but makes perf...

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

I wonder what his mother thinks of this: The only love I’ve known has slipped away The only love I’ve known has gone away I think the song could actually be seen as being from his mother's perspective. Myles has said in interviews how hard she worked to take care of his family at the time of his fa...

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

It's a decent little tune despite the stink of Elvis Baskette on the production. I do hope the other album tracks arent really like this song though. What stink? I think this sounds very different than his AB production. Instrumentally and stylistically, it's very different, but it definitely still...

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

Was there some kind of vocal editing? Myles voice sounds kinda auto tuned at some points. Can vocals be autotuned if they were recorded to tape? Not unless they were transferred to a computer in some way during the mixing process (computer in the vaguest sense of the word: a computer, a pedal, anyt...

You sound like you're on a good track after playing for 32 months! And don't worry about the little mistakes, the important thing is that you recognize the areas where you can improve, which you did! Keep at it dude!

Re: Lyric Writing

Lyric Writing

Hey Lyricists, How do you go about writing? Do you find that you tend to write from a certain point of view or perspective? Lately I've been realizing that I tend to write the majority of my lyrics from the perspective of the singer/narrator communicating to someone (like the kind of perspective in ...

Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)

People can't even properly clap along with it, lol (seriously, what the hell was that beginning?) Ah, that's a typical German thing. Even though I thought that this was more of an elder generation issue and that by now German audiences know how to clap rhythmically. Superior Aryan race my ass. I be...
