YES
The Mountain is currently my favorite album of 2013. I love every second of it, literally. Such a fantastic prog release. It channels so many different realms of prog that keep you interested and enticed. Because It's There is just gorgeous.

Re: The Official DREAM THEATER Thread
I really like parts of this album. The string section in Illumination Theory rules, as does the ending. The Looking Glass is really good, and a few of the other songs have really good intros or choruses. It's just less interesting and sort of by-the-numbers DT. Disappointing, sadly.

Re: The Official AVENGED SEVENFOLD Thread
This was probably the most disappointing album of the year. Which is rough for me, being the huge a7x fanboy I was in the past.

Really fantastic album. Not sure it beats One Day Remains, but it's better than both Blackbird and ABIII. Love the experimentation and the lengths they went to push the barriers of their sound. So pleased with the album.

Re: The Doctor Who Thread
Bump for two reasons. Reason one: My final project I came up with in Drawing I this semester was the task of drawing all eleven of the Doctors. It was an arduous task, and it left me with little free time, but the result was something I'm quite proud of. My father and I built a TARDIS-frame to frame...

Re: The Official PORCUPINE TREE Thread
EHHHH NOT really. The Raven is definitely one of the most beautiful songs he's ever written. I literally have no clue how you can love something like Swans and then not find this song to be utterly gorgeous, but to each his own. Album still rules btw. That video is absolutely amazing, such a sad sto...

Re: The Official BIFFY CLYRO thread!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmm, I'm not a huge fan of Pocket and Picture A Knife Fight. But these are literally the only 2 tracks that I don't like as much as the other tracks, and Pocket's starting to grow on me already. The outro of Spanish Radio is the coolest moment on the entire CD :D I've got a thing for songs in 5/4, ...

Re: The Doctor Who Thread
Huge fan, though I still need to watch the old Who. My favorite Doctor is Tennant of course, but Matt Smith has done an utterly fantastic job with the role and I'm looking forward to his portrayal in the new season-- in the Christmas special, he experienced a slight change, which felt really fresh, ...

Re: The Official PORCUPINE TREE Thread
So, the new Steven-solo album is absolutely fantastic. The Raven That Refused to Sing is one of the best album closing songs that SW has ever created, and that's saying a lot with Collapse, Feel So Low, Stop Swimming, etc. It's almost as if the album builds and builds to that final song, and then ju...

not really huge on this type of music anymore but I have to say King Animal is actually really really good, especially for a "return" type of album
