Re: Chronological Order of Tracks

I hadn’t listened to Mark’s interviews about the book so that does help some. I had forgotten about that first conversation between Stella and Rhapsody, and that does fit with the theme of As The Silence Becomes Me. Trust being between Ares and Stella was also an idea I played around with, I just co...

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

I liked the album personally. It’s not as good as World On Fire, still miles ahead of Apocalyptic Love (listening back to that album mostly just hurts me lol). Slash’s guitar playing is insanely good on this record from top to bottom. I know a lot of us listen to these records for Myles, but Slash r...

Re: Chronological Order of Tracks

I’ll just post some thoughts here. DON’T KEEP READING IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE BOOK. :lol ATSBM as the opener fits as Brennan feeling down about not being with his wife anymore, and it’s his motivation to enter the Vessel lottery in the first place. The next 2 songs I was iffy with, but I thought Tru...

Re: Chronological Order of Tracks

I finished the book and I’m going to try to piece this together the best I can. I know it won’t be perfect because my memory of exact order is slightly off when the events of two songs happen within the same chapter or two. But I think this order is at least a good general idea of how the book’s sto...

Re: A Dying Machine Novel Pre-order/Discussion Thread

Does the novel leave room open for a sequel? I know this was a few days ago, but I just finished the book this evening, and yes it does. The epilogue leaves a pretty nice setup for a new story down the road. It’s a book that has a good conclusion in and of itself (no huge cliffhanger or anything), ...

I’ve got 100 pages left to read, but I thought about this when I read the chapter that mentions traipsing through the woods. :lol

Re: A Dying Machine Novel Pre-order/Discussion Thread

It was probably a whole lot easier for Mark to sign all the cards and for the publisher to insert them into the books rather than to have all the books delivered to Mark (or Mark to go to the printers) to sign the real things. This way was probably a lot faster for delivery, too. If...IF...Mark eve...

Re: A Dying Machine Novel Pre-order/Discussion Thread

Yeah it’s a super standard size lol Small pet peeve, but I would’ve preferred they just autographed the inside of the book. That’s usually where authors sign. Not really complaining though, the card is kinda cool to have as an extra. I just wondered why they printed those instead of just signing the...

Re: AB VI Speculation

I’d be completely fine with a spring 2020 release if they spent more time in the studio on this one. I know they didn’t spend much more time in the studio for Fortress compared to The Last Hero, so time doesn’t always mean the quality is better or worse. But I remember seeing in the Making of Blackb...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

I don't find this performance great and I'm open about it. What I actually find annoying, are the fans who swallow everything the band puts out without any word of criticism. 'This is one of the best rock bands' is a justification for Myles being sloppy? I think it's quite telling that long time fa...

Re: Chronological Order of Tracks

Now that some forum users have received their copy of the Mark Tremonti/John Shirley novel, I was wondering if the novel provides a better idea of what order the songs should be in to tell a story. I haven't gotten around to ordering the novel yet, but I wanted to get a clearer idea of the underlyi...

Re: A Dying Machine Novel Pre-order/Discussion Thread

I haven’t started mine yet. I’m halfway through another book right now so I’m not sure if I’ll take a break on that book to read A Dying Machine now or if I’ll wait until I’m not currently reading something else. It’s only 300 pages so I might take a break to read through it relatively quickly.

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

Cool to see some more positive responses haha! No problems hearing the bass here with my (cheap) 2.1 computer speakers. Can hear every note BMarsh plays, maybe a bit too much even. But that's always the problem with my speaker set and why I usually just use my headphones when listening music. Yeah ...
