Re: What are you listening to right now?

I listened to the album completely twice today. I know Crystal Roses came out too early. It is really a strange song and Courtney's vocals are very robotic/artificial sounding. I bought the album on vinyl at Target this afternoon and took the first half for a spin when I got home from work. I love ...

Re: What are you listening to right now?

New Spiritbox - Tsunami Sea https://www.nme.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Spiritbox-Tsunami-Sea-LP-cover.-CREDIT_-Press.jpg Great album. Although Crystal Roses is a track that I felt could have been left off the record. Not a fan of the autotune style. Yeah I’m a bit mixed on that track, but one t...

Re: You just might get it! And then it all crashes down, and you break your crown.

Well, crap. I had my ticket to see MK tonight here in Denver, but the band cancelled the show this morning because a snow storm in KC made travel to Denver too unsafe. :( As if we needed any more reason to hate FUKC here in Denver. Full disclosure...I was talking to Ryan and Jim last night and said...

Re: The End Will Show Us How - Top 5 Songs

After giving it a few weeks, here’s my rankings at the moment: 1. I’ll Take My Chances 2. All The Wicked Things 3. The End Will Show Us How 4. Nails 5. The Bottom The fifth song was the hardest to pick. The first four are pretty will solidified for me currently. The next group after that includes Th...

Re: Tremonti - Episode VI: The End Will Show Us How

I thought maybe I was just in a funky mood so I went and listened to Bringer of War, From The Sky, Let That Be Us, and Another Heart. My mood immediately improved. Then I tried Nails and I'll Take My Chances. Ended up going to Ties That Bind and Island of Fools. My immediate thoughts afterwards wer...

Re: Tremonti - Episode VI: The End Will Show Us How

I'm really struggling with this one guys and am pretty bummed out. Lots of different thoughts as I listened to the album 2-3 times today. :/ 1. It's my least favorite Tremonti album. 2. I can barely remember any of the verses. 3. I want to like it a lot more than I do. 4. I like Myles' solo album b...

Re: Tremonti - Episode VI: The End Will Show Us How

I think it’s a really good album, a lot better than the first handful of preview songs represented imo. Just Too Much is probably the worst track on the album so releasing it first was an interesting choice. I’ve only listened one time so I’m not going to write up anything in depth, but something th...

Re: Tremonti - Episode VI: The End Will Show Us How

I'm pretty sure you don't always hear as much of those two amps as you might think, even when he was still using them live. For example, All I Was and Fortress used his Cornford RK-100 for almost all the dirty tones, Then for the Dying Machine and Last Hero Albums it was the MT-15 and probably for ...

Re: Tremonti - Episode VI: The End Will Show Us How

I prefer the production of A Dying Machine and Marching In Time to the songs we’ve heard from this album so far. The End Will Show Us How sounds the best of the bunch to me (love the song in general myself). The heavier stuff could have been mixed better for my tastes. I’m happy Mark has his own sig...

Re: Tremonti - Episode VI: The End Will Show Us How

It’s a great song. Actually reminds me a bit of a Weathered era Creed track. Some of the guitar parts reminded me of Hide.

It’s my favorite of the singles so far.

Re: One Day Remains - 20th Anniversary Content

I picked up a copy mainly because there’s never been a print run of these with the original album art. Do wish it had some other bonuses (even Solace and Cruel Sun), but still glad to have a vinyl of this one.

New song sounds like a nice return to form compared to their last album. Get a lot of Dear Agony era vibes from it. Killer track.

Re: Amps & Other Guitar Gear

USA Tremonti update: Turns out after all these years of lusting after them that I absolutely hated the Tremonti pickups. The bridge pickup has enormous bass and almost no top end... which explains Mark's live tone. Works for him but it's just not for me. I love the rest of the guitar so I whacked s...

Eternal Lullaby is such a good track and ode to Chris Cornell.

Re: The Official DREAM THEATER Thread

I think it feels more like the Dream Theater I grew up with now that Portnoy is on drums again. I haven’t followed this guys closely in a while, but I do think it’s a good song. With that being said I do get what you mean. Their material as a whole doesn’t excite me like it did 15-20 years ago. Some...

Myles is currently on his press tour for the album and did an interview with Ola Englund on YouTube.

Great interview. Heard some stuff I never knew in this one.

Re: Amps & Other Guitar Gear

I didn't really budget for this possibility and now I have to sell a load of other stuff to afford it but.... a Black Sunburst Tremonti came up for sale near me and I managed to negotiate a good deal. Even if I had to drive all the way into central London to get it. This is literally dream guitar t...
