Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER
After a lot of listening, I've finally come to terms with how I rank Stapp's albums now: 1) TSBTS - 8.3/10 2) TGD - 7.9/10 3) HP - 7.5/10 4) POL - 7.2/10 His best IMO is still The Space Between The Shadows and my least favorite is Proof of Life. And that's not counting the extra 2 songs version, oth...

Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER
The most he's had was with Jon Kurzweg. In a very recent interview he mentioned that Jon would coach him during Creed's heyday to where he could push himself vocally in the studio but also craft a melody that wouldn't risk long term damage to his voice. He cited One Last Breath as the example and s...

Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER
About Stapp's voice, I'm not really sure if he's had serious singing lessons. You can sustain vocal distortion and not effing up your throat. Just look at MJK, Mike Patton, Steven Tyler, all above 50 (hell, Tyler is in his 70s), they are phenomenal singers, it's all about proper technique. I feel th...

Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER
I've listened to it three times since I got it, just like I did with The Space Between the Shadows. I feel like I have a pretty solid opinion at this point. I really really love this album. This is the most I've loved an album from the 2020s since Stone Temple Pilots released Perdida. Considering b...

Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER
you can tell stapp has no clear direction for his solo music. Every album is tonally different from the other, and so are the songs within. Look at the last record with Wake Up Call and Red clouds. And then that dub step song. And now he comes out with this new record and it's 4 radio friendly heav...

Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER
I've literally listened to every Scott album 10 times to write this. I'll post a detailed review later in the week at Rate Your Music but basically, I ranked Scott's albums like this: 1)TSBTS 2)TGD 3)POL 4)HP But POL scored quite close to TGD. I rated it as a 7.9/10 while POL as 7.2/10. I didn't dec...

Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER
Honestly, it has a some decent songs but I'm not overly interested in about half of the them. That's kind of like all of his solo records tho. a few songs im keen too but overall it's a shrug. His voice is really good but some of the vocal melody hooks don't work. I think the album is overly produc...

Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER
I didn't realize the new album has a thread, so I'll post my first thoughts on it here My first impressions: the album sounds better mixed and produced than the TSBTS. I've shared my disappointment towards Deadman's Trigger meh chorus and Black Butterfly weird vocal mixing (and the song overall wasn...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread
Legit same. I would be baffled if they were splitting. She's seen him through the most humiliating and awful parts of his life. Its none of our business but God only knows what could end their marriage at this point. Especially now when Stapp's actually in an amazing place in life and his career. A...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread
There are snippets on Facebook but I haven't found anything on Youtube. God I hope they didn't get divorced. That would be absolutely heart breaking I just really really really hope he doesn't have another breakdown. That woman saved his life and he is going to tour in a cruiser ship loaded with al...

Re: *The Official Creed Press Thread* (Updated 6/17/12)
Wow. That is a great find. I did a skim through and Bullets and Faceless Man sound pretty good. It’s also good hearing the lesser played Weathered songs. Cannot wait to hear what they sound like in 2024 with Stapp in better shape vocally. You guys in the US better give us some good recordings in th...

Re: *The Official Creed Press Thread* (Updated 6/17/12)
I dunno where else to post this but holy cow, a complete proshot from 2002, VHS rip https://youtu.be/JrH-_m9a9ms?si=TG8KWzoTLD0izxXb Thanks for posting this! Stapp was really struggling at points here, and they were running a ton of bad sounding reverb on his voice, lol. Love Mark's live tone in th...
