Re: Performance Videos

This one is a couple years old, but one of my favorites -- doing a cover of John Corabi's song "If I Had a Dime" (from his Unplugged album a few years back) at an open mic in Minneapolis.

Re: What are you watching right now?

Just finished watching Inglorious Basterds. I hadn't seen it since it first came out on video, and someone mentioned the opening in a thread on Reddit asking about the best opening scenes to movies. Pretty badass little flick.

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

I've used some of those sites trying to dig up info on my father (never met him but I know his name and roughly where he lives), and it seems like they always trickle a little bit of info in front of your nose and then try to get you to pay for the "full report." My guess is that's either ...

Re: WWE

I'm sure he's going to get hotshotted onto a tag match for Mania, but damn... they should just slip him into the World Title match. He never lost it. He should really stake that claim.

But man. How about a Bryan / Nakamura match? Cannot wait!

Re: Best and worst Alter [SPACE] Bridge album

Each album has something that I like and dislike, so ranking them is really hard. But if I must... 1. Blackbird 1a. Fortress 3. One Day Remains 4. ABIII 5. The Last Hero And even then, it pains me to rank ODR halfway down the list, but Blackbird and Fortress are just God-tier albums. The feel, the p...

Re: "No more sorrow, now it's gone."

Holy hell! You know, all of Scott's "baggage" kind of ruins the whole Creed thing for me most of the time, but when you forget all that and just listen to the music... damn. Good stuff. And hearing those two songs together like that, wow. Just fantastic! I love AB, and Tremonti, and all th...

Re: Alter Bridge/Creed/Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List

Make sure you've got a slide handy! Unfortunately, I do not own a slide. Haha. I did just pick up a new 12-string guitar today, though, so I may need to hit up my local music shop for some accessories (strap knob, etc). I've always wanted to play around with a slide! Not sure if it sounds as good w...

Re: The Movie Thread

I watched Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri on TV the other day. I was really swept up by that story. I hadn't been that moved by a movie since Rudderless a few years ago. And then it got to the end and it just stopped. What the fuck? Seriously? You think that's art or something clever? I'm ...

Well, since I picked Virginia to win it all and UMBC had to come along and be all UMBCey, I guess I'll just root for the most Cinderella of teams. Loyola-Chicago, here's to your One Shining Moment!

Re: Lyric Writing

I think my problem is, my life got too awesome. I used to write as a way to deal with the loneliness of singlehood and all that jazz, but then I met someone and got married and had a baby and life got all kinds of good. And I'd love to try writing some love songs or something more upbeat and happy, ...

Re: Alter Bridge/Creed/Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List

DADADD was my favorite tuning when I was playing more electric. Might have to dust off my Tremonti SE and see what I can do with Blind Faith. :D

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

My vinyl pre-order (I got the gold record) showed up on Monday as well. I've only gotten to listen through it once so far, and didn't get to the last couple of songs, but my record player doesn't have the greatest EQ so I'm kind of waiting till I can listen to the full thing online with headphones c...

Re: greats from AB111

I thought it was A B Eye Eye Eye? For reals though, fantastic album and I think it gets sort of overlooked, sandwiched between two absolute masterpieces in Blackbird and Fortress. The second half of ABIII is sort of an enigma to me -- individually, I really dig each song and feel each one in its own...

Just wanted to say I am SO incredibly happy for Sam Rockwell for winning the Best Supporting Actor Oscar last night! He's been one of my favorite actors for years, since i saw him in Choke, and then Moon, and Seven Psychopaths, and Galaxy Quest, and anything else I've seen him in. He's fantastic, an...

Re: WWE

I tuned in to SmackDown a while back, and thought... "who the fuck, the Bludgeon Brothers?" I'm glad they're back together, but that name sounds like a bad e-fed pairing. Just bugs me that they split up the whole faction with Bray, when him being this enigmatic cult leader was the whole re...

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

2 notes on the lyrics: 1 - "Like the ghost of death arrived and took my love too soon" -- thinking this song is from his mom's perspective as well, the way Year of the Tiger is? Maybe the whole album will be from her POV? 2 - "Those who worry suffer twice" - somebody's been liste...

Nice!! I'm on Day 17. Not always eating perfectly but watching portions and counting calories. And gotten my DDPY done every day, even if I have to do some in the office at work. The weight hasn't changed yet, but I feel a lot better!

Re: The Fitness Thread

That's one reason I'm really glad I got away from the office environment. Driving a forklift is a lot of sitting too, but it's also a lot of moving around and walking and stuffs. It's so hard not to get out of shape when you have to be at a desk for so many hours a day, but hopefully you can keep it...
