Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 07

So hard to choose between Calm The Fire and Rise Today for me here. CTF is a masterpiece, but RT, while maybe a bit overexposed due to being one of the lead singles and a longtime set closer, is iconic and never fails to get me hyped up. I can't pick... *EDIT* I picked. Went with Rise Today, which b...

Re: The Disney+ Thread

Finally started The Mandalorian a couple nights ago. Very not bad! I'm not a super huge Star Wars person, but that first episode was pretty great. Excited to see where it leads!

Re: What are you watching right now?

Sorry for the double post, but I was just re-reading this ^^, and man, it sounds kinda mean. I'm glad he wants to share something with me (and he knows I'm a wrestling fan so that's why he wanted to show me this), but... I just don't get anime. Especially stuff that's all in Japanese and I have to r...

Re: What are you watching right now?

My stepson (who's a total weeb) has been trying to get me to watch some random anime with him for the past 3 days, just because it happens to have a pro wrestler as a main character. The wife is napping, I just put the step-daughter to bed, and my bio daughter is passed out for a nap as well, so he ...

Re: The Disney+ Thread

I had forgotten that the Pirates of the Caribbean movies were made by Disney (I mean, duh... look at the name) till I was out at a pet store tonight, and there were some Captain Jack and Black Pearl figures for fish tanks and I noticed the "Disney" on the tag. I'm kind of stoked to rewatch...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 06

It was a REALLY tough call between Broken Wings and Before Tomorrow Comes. Both are restaurant quality songs, but I went with BTC for the sweet backing vocals.

The Disney+ Thread

So I imagine most of us have jumped on the D+ service by now. What are you liking, disliking? What's the first thing you watched? What are you looking forward to watching that you haven't gotten to yet? For me, I haven't really gotten to play with it much yet as I've been working all week, but hopin...

I was trying to figure out if that was trolling or someone he knows having a "friendly" jab, but that doesn't seem like a Jared friend. lol. Seriously, what joy to people take in being dicks online?

Aww, it's always sad to see someone step away from the team, but I understand. Thank you for all you've done for this site over the years! It was an honor and a pleasure to be part of the team with you when I was on board. :) You've always been one of the good ones. Are you going to be out on tour w...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 05

Wow. I can't believe that I'm the 25th vote, and I'm the first one to vote for The Uninvited. I really thought that was one of the songs that made Fortress a masterpiece. I do love Metalingus, but I feel like I've just heard that one so many times over the years (especially with being a big Edge fan...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 04

I did go give Lover a fresh listen, and while I appreciate it and find the song very appealing, it still just doesn't reach out and tear my soul apart the way Burn It Down does. Maybe it's just the nostalgia, but then, Lover is a couple albums ago now too.

Re: How awkward do you think this moment was?

On that note of punching bags, why do people always feel the need to treat bands like punching bags just because those bands make music that is popular for the time and something those people in particular do not like? First it was Creed, then it was Nickelback and Linkin Park after Meteora at some...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 04

Wow, I'm kind of surprised at the overwhelming love for Lover. Maybe I need to go give it another listen, but I've always been a little bit "meh" on it. Like, I know it's a great song, I enjoy it if it's on, but it's nothing that trips my trigger. My vote went to Burn it Down, which I feel...

Re: Walk The Sky Production Quality.

This is one topic where I'm happy to just be an ignorant rube. I mean, I can hear that TLH and some of WTS sounds overly loud and fatiguing to the ear, but it doesn't stop me from enjoying the music. I'm guessing it doesn't stop you guys either, but some of you act like you can't listen to the album...

Re: Your Acoustic Covers Repertoire

Btw, what's the deal with AIC's "Nutshell"? Everyone is so in love with that song and I really don't understand why. They have way better songs. Check your pulse if the lyrics don't cut your soul and open you up. It can be a generational thing. Depending on your age it may not have the si...

For comparison, here's the new Clint Lowery solo single that came out today, also produced and engineered by Elvis and Jef. What's the verdict on their work here?

Re: Walk The Sky Production Quality.

I still feel like we're missing an important variable here. Elvis and Jef were the main hands behind A Dying Machine and Year of the Tiger, and neither of those albums (nor pretty much anything else they touch) have the "issues" that The Last Hero and, now, Walk The Sky have seen. I don't ...

Re: Your Acoustic Covers Repertoire

Iris (Goo Goo Dolls) Do you play using the song's authentic tuning (BDDDDD)? If so, man, I'd hate to switch back and forth with that all of the time and eventually snap my strings or what have you. I did it once, but can't seem to find a good balance between me playing it and me singing it. The onl...

Re: Walk The Sky Reaction Thread

I'm guessing the lyrics were mostly written by whoever wrote/demo'd each song, but I don't really know. Do the writing credits in the CD liner reveal who wrote what? I haven't gotten my hands on the CD yet.
