I'd love to see them in South America. Such passionate fans.

Wonder if that's to help preserve Myles's voice given this resulted in three straight shows in a row. Also looks like the set lists were cut a song or two short on all three nights – possibly for the same reason.

Re: August US Tour 2023 with Sevendust and Mammoth WVH Opening

That's a good point. Although Alter Bridge haven't gotten notable airplay on terrestrial rock radio since AB III , they are apparently in pretty heavy rotation on Octane (satellite radio). This probably even has an outsized impact for shows in rural areas like Grantville where there are very few ter...

I JUST SAW FABLE 🤯 More thoughts on last night's show to follow... As promised, added my review here (repurposed my original thread to encompass both dates I attended, given it's a lower-traffic subforum). Also included a video of the "Fable" performance which the guy in front of me was k...

Re: 2023-08-02 Asbury Park, NJ & 2023-08-05 Grantville, PA

On Saturday I was fortunate to catch a second date on this tour as the planets aligned on the day-of, allowing me to buy a ticket just a few hours beforehand. Given I already offered my thoughts above about the show three days prior, this review will server as more of a comparison between the two. I...

Ah, I should've grabbed a pic of the merch booth! I don't recall seeing that design though. Saw some familiar ones from the last leg, presumably updated with new dates on the back.

Thanks for making this thread, Kev! Was about to post my thoughts about last night's show in Asbury Park here, but figured I'd throw it over in Concert Reviews: http://thealterbridgenation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6129 Seems like the tour is off to a solid start. With any luck I may be ab...

2023-08-02 Asbury Park, NJ & 2023-08-05 Grantville, PA

I had the pleasure of seeing last night's show at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, NJ. Kind of a bucket list destination given its storied history, although I'm not sure it counts since I still haven't been inside :lol. This may have been my first time seeing AB play an open air show, not...

Same here!! As soon as that part picks up, it's like "YES... this is why I'm an AB fan."

Re: Pawns & Kings – post release reactions & user reviews

Holiday kinda reminds me of Halestorm, but in a good way. :D I could totally see that! I think having 10 songs really makes this album stand out as a strong one. It’s able to have multiple longer songs on it without feeling like the runtime drags out, and I wouldn’t consider any of the songs to be ...

Re: Pawns & Kings – post release reactions & user reviews

Sharing some initial thoughts I jotted down while listening through a second time. This by no means constitutes a formal review (if I ever do one)! I'm listening to most of these fresh aside from the first three pre-release tracks which I maybe heard 2–3 times each; I did hold off on listening to &q...

Re: Pawns & Kings (Alter Bridge - VII)

I've listened to it once through, and my initial reaction is the final three tracks are the strongest. Until now I'd only heard the title track, "Sin After Sin", and "Silver Tongue"—each only a couple times—and I managed to hold off on "This is War" until today. Like an...

Re: Your favourite lead single?

I gotta go with "Isolation" on this. I won't rank them because I haven't digested P&K yet, but "Isolation" is the one that immediately sticks out to me when considering all of the songs as lead singles. It's the perfect mix of everything you'd want in a single. It's got an in...

My biggest internal debate of the last 24hrs has been whether to listen to this song again before the album drops (not counting the listening party).

Help me.

Re: Pawns & Kings (Alter Bridge - VII)

I've only listened to it twice—once on speakers and once with headphones—and a day later I still have the chorus in my head. That's one thing AB consistently nails: they write these long epics with many parts stacked together, taking you on a journey approaching musical theater, yet the choruses shi...

Re: Pawns & Kings (Alter Bridge - VII)

Holy hell... THAT is how you do a lead single. Maybe not if you're going for maximum airplay, but these guys are totally doubling down on their core competency of writing epic, uncompromising masterpieces – saying this is who we are; this is what we do. They know why their fans are so loyal, and at ...
