Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

It’s that time again. At the Greek Theater to see Matchbox 20’s Rob Thomas. Nice weather for an outdoor show.

We could if we had the ability to do so, but wait, there are no mods here..... There should have been a contingent plan in the events that all the mods do not frequent the forums anymore, and no Ubik, don't nominate me.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

It's a funny thing. I guess if Year of the Tiger can be interpreted as a prequel to AB III when discussing faith and beliefs and how these ideas have betrayed a person, I guess Walk the Sky can be seen as the epilogue to AB III which may involve the aftermath of what the person's mind is going throu...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Nothing against them trying new things, it's just that those descriptors make me think of synthy 80's music, which I very much dont like. Just my personal taste. I highly doubt AB is going to go in the way Muse (first band that came to my mind about this topic) did with their latest album. Don't th...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

"Retro" and "old school synth vibe" sound absolutely terrible. Very concerned over what this is going to sound like now. But why? I would love to hear AB try some new territory. Expand the game a little, gain some new fans across the globe. Well, it's back to the old "peopl...

Re: Alter Bridge - Magazine Covers

Oh thank goodness. Nothing wrong with these Slash articles, but it's nice to see AB popping back into people's radars in outlets like Kerrang, Metal Hammer, etc.

Re: What are you listening to right now?

So I've been listening to Coheed and Cambria. Why haven't I listen to this band any sooner? This is some pretty catchy stuff and intricate at the same time. Hard to do both so well. Now I'm really pumped for them at the concert in LA in less than two weeks. Mastodon in the same bill is big plus as w...

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019

The people demand Cradle To The Grave on this tour! :fingerwag :no :shifty It's like now that they have finally played Words Darker Than their Wings and documented it in a DVD, this will be the next song that the fans wished they play live. I'm more partial to Fallout or Twilight, but people saw th...

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019

^^ I think someone said in the Download Festival Forums that the ranges will be around 40-50 pounds (including fees). 56 euros equates to around $63.00. Honestly, while that's on the steep end of things, for a band that's popular that can do big music halls and the occasional arenas in Europe, I fee...

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread

Huh. Don't think we had ever talked about this before. Found this article from Kerrang that discuses Myles' 10 songs that changed his life in some way and look at the variety of bands he listed. He listed Beatles, Zeppelin, GNR, Stevie Wonder, Big Wreck, Lamb of God, Earth Wind & Fire, Steely Da...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

So, apparently Walk The Sky was mastered by a different company. Not Ted Jensen again. Euphonic Masters out of Memphis did it this time. They posted a picture of one of the songs being worked on and looks like that song was over 6 minutes so that's good. :yes Somehow this tweet was not on our radar...

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019

Brent Smith is such a talent.. I wonder if there is anyway he and Myles would sign together on a song during this tour? Just read this post right now. If they didn't do anything when Shinedown was supporting AB in the UK in 2013, I highly doubt they will do anything for this Europe tour. Also, if i...

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019

I personally do not want AB and Shinedown touring together for the US. If it is in amphitheaters and Shinedown is co-headlining with a Breaking Benjamin-sized band, AB would be stuck getting 35 minutes like when they toured with Breaking Benjamin/Disturbed in 2016. I mean if it is AB and Shinedown c...

I'm putting a lot of dots for emphasis

I understand that. I really have loved the stuff from these guys. I don’t understand why people hate that he mixes things with layers the way he does. I think if you look back at the albums before fortress such as III it had a much more stripped down sound to it. To me new alter bridge is fantastic...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

I read that they excluded Elvis from the recording process. I’m a little worried about this. I loved Fortress, to me it was their best as well as blackbird and TLH. I’m hoping this doesn’t seriously alter their creative direction. Not that I mind some slower stuff but they have been getting heavier...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Looks like the album is going to be only one hour long according to the Napalm Record Vinyl which means the average song length per song is less than 5 minutes, as oppose to the other two albums both averaging over 5 minutes a song. Side A looks really short though. Average less than 4 minutes a son...

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019

Shinedown will direct support the entire leg. Raven Age will open in the non-UK shows. Sevendust will open in the UK shows. Thankfully, no four-band lineups since that would shorten AB's set time by like 10-15 minutes and we don't need that for a band like them.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

So I think that the poster of the tour we saw on the Download Magazine was not the actual cover of the album, I think it's the actual photo they posted now but covered Man, that would be a bummer if that tour poster was only used as the tour poster since it's a good looking cover and something diff...
