Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Yeah. I would be even happy with a shorter one. What's worrying though is that (as somebody mentioned) 60 minutes divided by 14 tracks gives us around 4,2 minutes per song. I hope this record isn't full of radio-friendly, soulless rock anthems.

Holy shit, that's quite a jump. Is the venue any good? The Warsaw gig is in a regular volleyball/athletic/baskeball type of hall.

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019

Any info on the ticket prices in the UK and Europe? The Polish gig starts with around 56 euros, which is a little bit over the top I would say.

Might see them in Warsaw, haven't seen them since ABIII cycle in 2011. Excited for the new single!

I know what he meant guys, of course it's a matter of perception but the statement is weird from the logical standpoint.

How it saying that it's your 'least favourite' different from saying that's it's 'the worst'?

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

The fact that songs work out well live doesn't mean that they are 'good' per se. A lot of tunes off of TLH just sound half-assed and like uninspired, cringy radio rock anthems.

Re: Poll: What type of song do you want to be the lead single for AB VI?

Why do you think they would only be remembered for a cover song? Even still, would that be better than not being remembered at all? I'd like to think AB are a respected member of the hard rock community. If anyone only remembered them for a cover song it would be people that would have never heard ...

Do you want people to remember AB only for a cover song?

Re: AB VI Speculation

I think Mark and Myles sit on those songs for a longer while. They then bring them to the rehearsal space, Flip and Brian learn their parts, little adjustments are made and the record is done.

Re: AB VI Speculation

I think Elvis mixes accordingly with the band's style. Huge choruses, soaring guitars, loud drums. He's mixed Year of the Tiger as well and the production isn't that overpowering because the music isn't. If only AB could experiment with dynamics a little bit - we would have a bigger variety of sounds.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Right on, man, I get it. I don't know how long it takes to release and market an album, but I've seen situations where the mixing was done in April and album was released in June. With ABIII the album was done in April and released in late September with a single in July.

How is the new AB dependent on Stapp's solo work? it's gonna be out by fall.

Re: Mark Morton feat. Myles Kennedy, Chester Bennington and others. (Release date March 1)

I've heard the whole record and it's extremely bland, the Chester's and Myles' songs are the stand-outs but, Jesus Christ, that record is a modern rock cliche.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Stapp does play guitar (which is to be seen in the famous Olympics 2002 set and in one of the studio videos when they were writing Creed V with Tremonti, he also did an acoustic set a couple years ago with Erock backing him up) but I don't believe he comes up with full songs as such. This clip sound...

Re: Mark Morton feat. Myles Kennedy, Chester Bennington and others. (Release date March 1)

I was obviously referring to what's going on in the 'mainstream', because if you dig down into progressive and experimental scenes, you'll find a lot of brilliant stuff but this track is just modern (mainstream) rock/metal at it's blandest. I've listened to the two other tracks from this upcoming re...

Re: Amps & Other Guitar Gear

The rehearsal room I used to play with my band at had like a stock Marshall MG 100 which had a similar issue. Whenever I would crank the channel volume up, it would drop down to the original setting after a couple of seconds. When you then touched the volume knob to adjust it, the volume would sudde...
