Re: Marching In Time

Any theories on the song meaning for The Last One Of Us? Love the thoughtful finger picked part before the bridge; its crazy that a short instrumental part like that can you feel so much. Its maybe my favorite bridge on the album even though its short. Vocal gets me every time. Then of course you've...

Re: Marching In Time

I'm wondering if Forgive Myself and Not Afraid To Lose are related? Lyrics seem like they could be. If they are, I wonder if they are written from Mark's experience/point of view vs a fictional person. Anyone have an opinion?

Re: Marching In Time

It has been so interesting to ready such different opinions on MIT, Mark, his song writing, whats "good music" and whats not etc. A poll might be interesting. Can someone do a poll (cant figure out how) with these options: When it comes to Tremonti & AB: (check all that apply) 1. I li...

Re: Marching In Time

Quick Reactions & Hot Takes Part II 1. I was blown away by ADM and thought it would be near impossible to top. Today, I believe Marching In Time topped it. We'll see if this album stays in the rotation over time like ADM did. 2. Erock has some crunchy awesome vocal harmonies if you listen for th...

Re: Marching In Time

Hot Takes & First Reactions: 1. This album is taking longer for me to digest because the writing, riffs & parts, arrangements, instrumentals etc are more complex than previous albums, more creative, and more out of the box for Tremonti (this is a GREAT thing). 2. Mark is developing, growing ...

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine

Wow. I'm in shock. This album imo is a far departure from anything Mark's been a part of before. 1) The guitar parts definitely incorporate techniques and style that we've not heard from Mark before on any record he's been a part of. This says to me he's pushing himself and getting outside of the bo...

Re: The Last Hero - AB Nation Discussion

So I will say this: I LOVE this album. Love it. I will also say I think the posts in this thread and the feedback is more of a commentary on us as the fans that the band. As I read through previous responses, I was shocked by the wide range of replies and opinions. My thoughts: - At the risk of bein...

Re: DUST - The Second Part

A couple thoughts after listening to Dust and My Last Mistake: - When I listen to the intro of My Last Mistake 1) I love it and 2) you just got this feeling when you used to listen to mark in the human clay days that he had these kinds of riffs inside of him. Watching Mark over the years has been a ...

Re: Another Heart Has Arrived!!

Man I think its killer. I really really enjoyed the solo. Definitely has that harmonic minor (middle eastern) feel to it. So happy he held of on the long legato run and picked all the fast stuff. The bridge riff is awesome and reminds me of all that i got. Bold to solo over that riff but he get a re...

Re: Proof Solo Difference

OK, thats crazy... i was listening to that solo and knowing Mark said he cut some of it out, it sounded long.. but i LOVED it. Its my favorite solo on the album. Very glad there's a copy floating around with the longer solo version.

Re: Hear A Few Full Tracks

- love the right hand parts on bridge and outro of All I Was, we've never heard anything that sustained and eradic from Tremonti, great stuff - the bridge on giving up is awesome... I love the rhythmic stomping of that riff... man what a killer solo, love the bendy stuff right before the legato run ...

Re: Tremonti playing at the Social TONIGHT!

We are really starting to get the most accurate picture of who Tremonti is a musician and artist. We've heard him write through the various stages of creed, the various stages of AB, and now as a solo artist. I think the commonalities in all of those different stages speak to who he is as an artist....

Re: Tremonti Project: Previews

I'll be honest, I love the sound of 'New Way Out.' My favorite of the bunch so far. Agreed. Hearing NWO for the first time reminded me of hearing Broken Wings for the first time in that they both blew me away. Mark is one of the only song writers who continuously, album after album, writes melodies...

Re: Tremonti Project: Previews

I feel it's gonna rain like this for days. Mark's vocal melody (chorus) kind of floats on that 3 over 6/3/4/1/7 progression. Rain floats around the 3 over the 1/7/4/3. So there's some similarity there but there's plenty thats different. I think that open tuning also makes it sound like rain. For th...
