Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"
Giving it its first spin right now, I'm liking everything I've heard so far, some really great vocals. The Great Beyond almost gave me a QOTSA vibe in parts, I think it fits in with the swampy bluesy vibe, even if the instrumentation is a bit different to the rest of the record.

Re: Adele
I ended up seeing her a couple of weeks ago with my family, a ticket became spare at the last minute so I thought why not? When we got to the O2 arena and found our seats, my mum had a panic attack (they were way up in the rafters!). My sister went and found the customer service people to see if we ...

Re: WEMBLEY!
I can't believe the guy from Shinedown is STILL lip-syncing - I called this way back when they supported AB at the Astoria, and nobody believed me at the time. What a fucking hack! It makes you wonder how much of the studio output is really him singing.

Re: Soundgarden and Chris Cornell
Has anyone seen the video of Chris singing Pearl Jam's Footsteps? One of the greatest singers covering one of the greatest bands. I'm surprised my head didn't explode from the awesomeness. http://www.alternativenation.net/?p=37191 Yeah, love it. I really hope Cornell's solo record is in the vein of...

I kind of agree on Sleeping By Myself, I don't dislike it, but I don't really understand why they would put it on there.
Strong album though - right now my favourites are: Getaway, Yellow Moon, Sirens, Infallible and Pendulum.

Re: Intro riff to Calm the Fire
I've noticed influences on a few songs - it's how I've learnt to identify them so quickly! Calm The Fire is the Muse song, The Uninvited is the Tool song, Bleed It Dry is Slipknot song and Lover is the Alice In Chains song! Cry of Achilles and Fortress are definitely Alter Bridge songs. Most defini...

Re: The Official PEARL JAM thread
I really like Sirens, I've listened to it many times today. The harmonies with Matt are really cool too, I've never noticed his voice so much in a song. This is probably one of their best songs, although I think the comparisons I've read to Black are a bit far fetched. I'm pretty sure the album cut...

The piano is straight out of November Rain! I fucking love it though, Ed's voice sounds incredible, it's like he's rolled back the years, absolutely flawless.BSC wrote:That song is great, I love it. Sounds a bit like Nickelback, but NB wish they could write like this.

Re: New Nine Inch Nails - Hesitation Marks
The more I listen to it the more the tracks are revealing themselves - it's quite a lot to take in on the first couple of listens.devv88 wrote:Short answer: it's great.
Slightly longer answer: it's really long - so long that several of the tracks get lost in the shuffle.
