Re: What are you watching right now?

Just finished Killing Eve seasons 1 - 3. I like it and don't like it in equal measure. Amazing acting and an interesting exploration of the fascination we have with our darker urges. However, the music is always so annoyingly in-your-face and the stylistic choices are always so loud it can be distra...

Re: Marching In Time

PART 3: All the singles and most of the rest are just very competent and unsurprising Tremonti songs. Many of them have lots of great details to them, like the first verse of Under the Sun where the singing is just so good (Mark lower register FTW). Most do pass under the radar for me in terms of th...

Re: Marching In Time

PART 2: Despite this change in style though, this album does feel like it has been worked on and refined to a point where things don't feel rushed. There's a lot of detail in arrangements and production that don't feel overdone or like a mess of overdubs. Some of the tones are spectacular (the clean...

Re: Marching In Time

To add to my 2 pence to all these reviews. Sorry for the length. I got into a flow. PART 1: After a few days of listening, I've come to the conclusion that this is a solid album with some truly standout moments and glimmers of progress from Mark that takes some steps in a direction I like and also s...

Re: Marching In Time

Thrown Further Really should have been a single. I will say that this tune fucking rocks. The main riff has real drive and bounce, the Chorus is decent and the bridge/solo are great.

This is true. That is an area he should explore more.

Re: Marching In Time

Yeh..... s'alright I guess. Not being fully blown away on first listen. The vibe is very much less metal than it used to be (though ADM started that). Ryan is very very talented but I miss Garret's more old school groove sensibilities. It's a great modern melodic hard rock/Metal album but not quite ...

Eh. I like it well enough I guess. It does look away from what I look to Tremonti for as a band. This is more AB 2.0 territory.

Re: Marching In Time

If I have one worry with this and ADM, alongside the loss of GW, it's that hopefully the Tremonti band doesn't lose the capital-M Metal :headbang style and sound that it has had since the beginning. The latter half of their current material has sided more to the anthemic AB-style stuff with a littl...

Re: Coffee and new tremonti is a great morning.

Not what I expected from a first single for a Tremonti project or anything involving these guys. Re: Marching In Time

I like it: - Nice vibe that might grow on me more over time - The bridge is really cool although the singing part uses cadences that he's perhaps done too many times before - His singing is stronger than before, more relaxed into those long notes and e-rock is thankfully pushed a little more to the ...

I haven't yet heard the full song but is that teaser riff in 15/8? Or did it just start one beat into the riff?

Re: Tremonti V...

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=742498529782969 This a pretty snazzy little lead Mark played and posted to Facebook yesterday... Could this actually be our first taste of a new tune?! I hope so. Those slower and jazzier note choices and the chromatic phrasing is totally new territory for Mark on ...

Re: Mammoth WVH (Wolfgang Van Halen) - Distance

He's undoubtedly very talented and his voice is very strong but I just want a bit more edge to his music. It sounds a little generic right now. It's very very competent for a debut album though.

Re: 2006 London Astoria Show (full video)

I have extremely clear memories of that concert as well as the previous two concerts at the Astoria. The other one that stands out is the 2008 show at Brixton Academy, such awesome energy.

Re: MK II

FINALLY! This is what I wanted from MK material. This is a song with musicians vibing, groove, interplay and space in the arrangement. Great stuff.
