Re: Lost in Vegas react to Radical Change

That's still 30k that watch. A lot of exposure. They certainly have two audiences and their rock/metal videos have been expanding over time. A good strategy by them and completely free and legit promotion for Tremonti to 30k people.

Re: ALTER BRIDGE - Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities

But it is an AB rarity..... and I think it's awesome. There's some great techniques in there that Mark doesn't use any more and some nice rhythm changes.

Re: ALTER BRIDGE - Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities

Agree about the Blackbird b-sides, agree about the thumpy intro, wildly disagree about Break Me Down. Everyone seems to hate on that song, or think that would be the weak link that would be dropped for one of the b-sides, but I love it. One of my favorite songs on that album. There'd be nothing wro...

I thought it was just a Mark thing and Flip helped out with the drumming?

Re: ALTER BRIDGE - Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities

Yeah. Those Blackbird B-sides were amazing. Truly baffled as to how they were taken off but Break Me Down made it in. 'New Way to Live' also kicks all kinds of ass. The only things that I truly long for in life with AB B-sides is a 2003 studio recording of 'On My Way Now' and a studio recording of '...

Re: Cauterize Production

There have been several absolutely terribly produced Rush records (Presto, Vapour Trails & Clockwork Angels all come to mind) despite the material almost always being high quality. Respectively disagree. I think Clockwork Angles sounds great. I have it on Vinyl and it reminds me of old school 2...

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

I enjoy going to see Gn'R Stuff being done by Slash and Myles in a smaller venue. Myles does 'em better than Axl these days anyway.

Re: Cauterize Production

St. Anger was well recorded but questionable instrument choices were made Death Magnetic, the drum mixing and recording was an absolute crime and still to this day ruins a pretty damn good album. Even the remixes out there have the drums too loud. Hardwired sounds pretty good, quite a modern sound b...

Re: Cauterize Production

Aye. Despite the material, the Load & Re-Load albums sounded phenomenal from a production perspective. The Black Album is awesome but has somewhat dated because of the drum sound.

Re: Lyric Writing

I quite often give demo instrumental songs a name based on what feelings the song gives me and then work backward from there. Try and uncover what the underlying theme is purely from the music. I rarely write lyrics and then fit a song around it these days, it's almost always the other way round.

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

I've heard what I think is pitch correction in AB songs before, one moment in Waters Rising comes to mind. I don't really hear it on this one though, certainly not the 0:40 part. It just sounds like a very "Myles" inflection to me, which can be quite angular sounding. I know pitch correcti...

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

:headscratch You're trolling right? Effects yeah, plenty, too many. I don't think pitch correction is required with MK though. It's really not that hard to sing on pitch in the studio. If I can do it then anyone can.

Eh. None of the Conspirators albums have been mind-blowing anyway. Slash's last great album was the R n' FR self-titled one.

Re: AB VI Speculation

I read a lot about TLH being too much of a sound wall to many users here. But I learned that the more you listen to each song, the more details and the more "musical finesse" you get out of the songs. Same with the RAH Addicted video. The more I listen to it, the better I can hear the orc...

Hi Micky, please check in with us even just to vent. As awful as it is what happened with the prior girlfriend, thank goodness you found out how awful she is before you moved in and got even more tangled up with her life. The older I get, the more I realize the truth of taking things one day at a t...

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

So I heard Dancing Rain on the classic rock radio station (which is probably mainly due to Slash's reputation, especially in LA) in SoCal today (not only that, but the DJ talking also gave a shout-out to the album release date and the upcoming show in LA). Like I said, it's not a bad unlistenable t...

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

Pretty boring and average song. The pitch correction is off and sounds unnatural on certain parts. Can't wrap my head around the Standing reference. 4/10 for me. Where are you hearing pitch correction exactly? I figured they were recording to tape again like they have been. Its blatant at the 40 se...
