Re: Performance Videos

Had my first gig with a jazz and blues covers band last night. Never have I had to play so many long-ass guitar solos in a gig :lol . Quite intimidating. Damn, nice playing! That Stevie song seems like one where you're up there playing your ass off, and everybody in the joint is just talking to the...

Re: The Official PERIPHERY Thread

https://youtu.be/SzznL_8DIUM Well..... it's pretty angry! But fantastic tho... Oh no doubt. I especially like the guitar solo where Misha sounds like he's falling down the stairs in a jazz club. Probably one of the heaviest things they've ever put out. I loved Motormouth from the last album too.

Re: Why does AB ignore much of ODR in its live set?

They should certainly resurrect a few more deep cuts from ODR over time. Down to My Last always killed it live. Feel good atmost, killer guitar solo, super singalong choruses.

They've quite the repertoire to choose from now though. Some albums will always suffer.

Can AB be even considered Post-Grunge nowadays? They haven't been Post-Grunge for at least 11 years (this one of these cases where it is a good thing for them).

Hmmm... maybe alt-metal?

Yeah. I remember they actually changed the theme of the forum about 2 days after I made this too. I remember liking that sig, it was colourful.

Well 2 months after the album was released, he got one: President Trump.

But Myles is still not happy. So maybe he really doesn't know what he wants.

Bloody heavy though. :lol That’s usually in my top 3 questions with music gear. Can my back handle it lol Tell me about it! I've switched to using a trolley to cart them about and other than gigs and rehearsals, they never come out my car anymore. I wish that PRS would make a MT15 combo. I still wa...

Re: Amps & Other Guitar Gear

It's very nice has a good range of sounds, it absolutely requires a boost through the front to do proper metal though. The 45 only has 4 channels (Bright Clean, Warm Clean, Crunch, Super Crunch) where as the more powerful heads also have extra OD1 & OD2 channels with more gain on tap. I keep it ...

Re: Amps & Other Guitar Gear

Pre-amp tubes are cheap and easy to replace so might as well do that first. My instinct from hearing you describe it is that it wouldn't be pre-amp tubes though. They reach temperature very quickly and problems tend to materialise more or less immediately. On the power tube subject, I've had a coupl...

Re: Amps & Other Guitar Gear

A lot of tube amps are nearly impossible to play at what could be considered 'quiet'. They do vary from amp to amp but I had Mesa Mk.IV that the difference between 0.1 and 0.2 on the master volume dial was the difference between completely inaudible and 'the neighbors have called the cops'. My Mesa ...

That's still 30k that watch. A lot of exposure. They certainly have two audiences and their rock/metal videos have been expanding over time. A good strategy by them and completely free and legit promotion for Tremonti to 30k people.

But it is an AB rarity..... and I think it's awesome. There's some great techniques in there that Mark doesn't use any more and some nice rhythm changes.

Re: ALTER BRIDGE - Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities

Agree about the Blackbird b-sides, agree about the thumpy intro, wildly disagree about Break Me Down. Everyone seems to hate on that song, or think that would be the weak link that would be dropped for one of the b-sides, but I love it. One of my favorite songs on that album. There'd be nothing wro...
