Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine

Any idea what does this '808' stand for? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_TR-808 It's a drum machine. You can get a lot of unique sounds out of them, so they don't use it to replace drums or anything. Probably just some subtle overlays, but I've seen the 808 on the white board for past albums...

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

Can we have this post properly credited to the writers/owners please? Having our intellectual property stolen and claimed for their own writings once already by someone off this forum is enough for us. Thanks in advance... Gah they could at least give us a bit more of the name column for some creative speculation.

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

The first album was the one people had ascribed a Mayfield Four quality to, Myles has always said this one was more in the bluesy realm.

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

The first 30 seconds made me think it was going to be the kind of special that his phantom first solo album had become in my mind, almost like something off Fallout. Then it changed tone somewhat. Though I do also enjoy this song a fair bit, impossible not to tap your foot along and lovely work on t...

Re: Myles Kennedy Solo Tour 2018

Ooooo, All Ends Well. Yes, please. I would love to listen to that in the LA show. I got a feeling Myles may incorporate songs that goes well with the aftermath of The Year of the Tiger. I.e. the songs that Myles wrote that had his mother in mind where she keep encouraging him to do his best when he...

Looks like Erock might've been using it, maybe just to keep himself entertained though. Elvis has a bunch of other guitars lying around usually.

Re: The Game of Thrones Thread.

I finally caught up with this last weekend, went to a friend's for a 27-hour marathon watch interspersed with the superbowl and occasional bouts of sleep.

Am now at last embarking on the real stuff, have had the first couple of books for years and never got round to them. It's time!

Re: The Star Wars Thread (The Last Jedi SPOILERS Inside)

Yeah I'd pretty much written it off given the rumours and the lack of any promotion so far, but I didn't mind the trailer at all. Obviously not hard to make a fantasy action film look good in a trailer these days, but still. Donald Glover and the droid has potential! Ehrenreich is definitely the big...

Solid money that his Dusterize tracklist omits it! I say that because I also completely forgot that lyric :lol

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

I think both of those readings are great.

I might just be projecting myself into it but a lot of it screams "anxiety" to me, and when you suffer from that it feels like it's something built in that you can't escape from.

Re: it looks even worse now I've posted it

My Rogue One enjoyment honestly dwindled quite a bit when I saw it again and noticed that Vader is actually doing a terrible job at the end :lol Like, they're literally carrying the disk a few metres in front of him, if he stopped slicing and dicing and just force pulled them all back, the rebels ar...

Re: The Star Wars Thread (The Last Jedi SPOILERS Inside)

I loved the score that was played during the Finn vs. Phasma fight. Looked up the soundtrack to see the song was called "Chrome Dome." :lol I've heard some fans were angry about that term :lol I think I've gone a bit darkside, because I've found that the more some people rage about the fi...
