Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Looking forward to those, Drew. Happen to have just re watched both Terminators (the Cameron ones) so that's a well timed theme!

Re: Myles's solo album

So Im digging into this way too much probably but year of the tiger... 1974. According to wiki Myles lost his father when he was four which would line up to be 1974. I think this is the solo album according to the interview where he talked about the subject matter having a bit to do with that. Agai...

American rockers Alter Bridge start at 16 with their Live At The O2 + Rarities double album.

Nice! Hadn't even thought about it charting as a live album.

Re: ALTER BRIDGE - Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities

Outright is up there but I would say New Way to Live is their best ever. Not that they're the end-all but I think they would agree as to the best of my knowledge, it's the only b-side they've ever played live. Also, out of curiosity, AFAIK, Outright was recorded during either the BB or ABIII sessio...

Re: ALTER BRIDGE - Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities

Breathe still far and away the best b-side from ODR for me, prefer it to a lot of songs on the album. Solace and Cruel Sun are so cool to hear finally though. And Outright still the best b-side they've put out :cloud9

In Search of Lost Condoms doesn't have quite the same Proustian ring to it. Maybe better in French.

Re: ALTER BRIDGE - Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities

Guesswork - Save Me having been on a compilation album made retrieving the rights trickier, or alternatively they had to buy back each track individually and it wasn't seen as worth the expense for something that we'd all heard before anyway.

This fragment of a sentence has inspired me to commit to reviewing the eventual AB6 entirely through Mad Max - Fury Road references. There's something we can all look forward to.

Great summaries as always, abw.

Also had a rewatch of the Thing last week, even better when you can just sit back and enjoy the atmosphere without wondering what's going to happen. Ever seen the commentary for it? Pretty sure Carpenter and Russell are getting steadily drunk throughout :lol

Re: The Movie Thread

Finally got around to A Clockwork Orange, weird film and I think the intervening period has dulled its impact somewhat, the violence and sex now looking pretty tame compared to even mainstream TV. Kubrick usually leaves me a little cold but his ability for visuals is always hard to argue against.

for a guy with a Butters avatar, you're pretty classy! Didn't know Amazon did that - I can see the dilemma now. Maybe check your library? I'm basically like that Simpsons episode about the film festival, but with Butters instead of Barney. Good idea on the library, though given how much they've bee...

Aw man, Amazon just announced it's cancelling its DVD rental service :( I was probably one of about five users of it but still, gutted.
