Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

I've long accepted Creed's inactivity. I like Stapp's solo career and Marching in Time is my favorite Tremonti solo album thus far. I think I'd rather see Stapp work with Carl Bell of Fuel when it comes to future songwriting or a potential band. Tremonti absolutely needs that spark he had from My Ow...

Re: FUEL 2013 = Puppet Strings

I agree. I'm a little worried about this record. I don't like the lead up to this lineup either. Carl Bell is an amazing songwriter and he's up there with Tremonti for me as far as storytelling and emotions. But unlike Tremonti, Carl is not good at recapturing chemistry. Neither Toryn Green nor John...

Re: Coldplay--- Surprising.

That's cool that you're able to get into Higher Power. Coldplay's pop stuff kills me so I'm probably just gonna like half of this record

Re: FUEL 2013 = Puppet Strings

I don't know why Carl gets the most basic singers when he's not with Brett. Both of these songs are fine but much like Toryn Green, John doesn't have that star power to push them further. I'm holding total reservations for the final product and acknowledge that these songs may grow on me but man. Wo...

Re: Coldplay--- Surprising.

This is brilliant. I can't believe that stupid Higher Power song is on the same album as this. Makes me wonder what its gonna be like in full.

Re: Marching In Time

This is looking to be my favorite Tremonti solo album thus far. I've loved every single song released. I'm gonna try and see Mark in December. Can anyone tell me if would he be willing to sign my albums without a meet and greet? Like post show? I just want to know the likelihood.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Hi guys! I'm back! The site wouldn't let me log in for awhile and would take me to some AT&T webpage. I also had (and have since lost) a career from April to now so a lot of shitty emotions brewing as of late. I missed you all though. To elaborate on the Creed topic, I agree with shakes51. I'd r...

Re: FUEL 2013 = Puppet Strings

Damn, you guys beat me to it. Lol. Its alright. MUCH better than the teaser would lead me to believe but man. I wish Carl didn't just hire the first group of guys he found. He did an interview with Loudwire recently where he gives a lot more exposition in regards to this lineup of Fuel, and based of...

Re: FUEL 2013 = Puppet Strings

I just want Stapp to recreate something like what he had with Tremonti haha But you're right, I doubt Stapp would be comfortable filling in for another singer's legacy. I dig his solo career too, but him and Carl Bell just sound like a match made in Heaven as far as songwriting. Maybe a one off coll...

Re: FUEL 2013 = Puppet Strings

So they got some dude named John Corsale, and based off this I'm not sure how I feel. The second song sounds really good, but the lead single sounds really awkward, and the third song sounds like one of Carl's country tracks. Also it sounds over produced and really compressed. Either way the new alb...

Re: FUEL 2013 = Puppet Strings

The thing about calling it a Carl Bell vanity project, is Fuel is essentially 60% him conceptually, and almost 100% if you're talking songwriting. If he found someone as talented as Brett to sing for Fuel the first time the band split, I don't doubt Fuel would have maintained a longer lasting impact...

Re: Coldplay--- Surprising.

New song. Yech :( I thought their last album was a step in the right direction, but I guess they're gonna go back and forth between their alternative and pop material from now on

Re: Nickelback

They don't deserve the hate they get at all, and I think they've mastered hit songwriting in the Post Grunge genre. I like more than a handful of Nickelback songs. With that said, I always hated that people put them alongside Creed. Even at their best I don't think Nickelback has written a song as t...

Woah, this is their new song. I give them credit for branching out this far. This actually sounds like Cage the Elephant or Queens of the Stone Age to me. I kind of like it.

Re: The Official SHINEDOWN Thread

My ex used to be really into them, so I'm playing them as a nostalgia trip right now lol. They're a very good band! I saw them live and there was over 10,000 people there. The more I listen the more I realize Shinedown basically assumed the vacancy Creed left.

Re: BLISSKRIEG (Submersed/Tantric Supergroup)

Their style is really cool. But somehow I get the impression that the album lacks some professional production. It wasn't professionally recorded, but actually entire made in Todd Whitener's home studio, which maybe why you're hearing a more indie vibe for the record. Interestingly enough the guy w...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

I hope stapp uses his improved guitar skills either on writing some guitar stuff for the next album or even performing some simple guitar stuff on it. Like maybe on a acoustic track. Something simple like "Lullaby" I think he could do, just as an example. When Art of Anarchy was recording...

Re: The Official Art of Anarchy Thread

I just threw Adam in there since Art of Anarchy reminds me more of Three Days Grace musically than Creed or STP. I could Sully Erna in something like this also. When I met Stapp, someone asked him what became of the leftover "Between Love and Lust" album, and he said half of the songs were...
