Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

I barely joined this forum last year, so I missed out on many great discussions when this album was new. However, as I'm listening to it right now, I'm reminded of how much Year of the Tiger means to me, and how it carried me during the many many hardships of 2018, and is doing so once more in 2020....

Re: BLISSKRIEG (Submersed/Tantric Supergroup)

Because of COVID and living distances, they haven't been able to properly record anything yet. However, in the next couple of weeks they will be having a jam session and will be documenting the process via social media. Trust me dude, as soon as something is finalized I'll post it right here. Given ...

Re: BLISSKRIEG (Submersed/Tantric Supergroup)

I could have sworn it would be Brett Scallions or Kevin Martin when he first announced it. Even Scott Stapp crossed my mind. I'm listening to that album. Its good stuff. He's a talented vocalist, and I look forward to seeing how his voice blends with Todd's. I like the Tremonti connection as well

Re: BLISSKRIEG (Submersed/Tantric Supergroup)

Hahaha, it reminds me of "Moop" from South Park, where they just make shit up since all the cool band names are taken.

BLISSKRIEG (Submersed/Tantric Supergroup)

This is my first time making a topic. Hopefully I do it properly haha So Todd Whitener, Jesse Vest and Matt Taul of Tantric/Days of the New decided to get the gang back together one more time. This time instead of getting a singer with a rich baritone such as Travis Meeks or Hugo Ferreira, they've d...

Re: MK II

I am so ridiculously excited for this. I know he said he wanted to pursue a solo career but I was worried Year of the Tiger would end up as a one off project because of commitments to Alter Bridge and Slash. Year of the Tiger was among my top ten favorite albums of the 2010s, so I know he'll deliver...

"I've been writing quite a bit lately, as you can imagine. Lots of time on my hands to do so. I'll be releasing some new songs sometime in the near future. Not sure if it will be released as FUEL or just as Brett Scallions. We shall see." On reuniting with Carl Bell: "Sorry to be the ...

Re: Tremonti on His Relationship With Stapp

For what its worth the Creed attachment is honestly based more off public demand than anything else. Around the time when he was playing almost nothing but Creed with one solo song (Slow Suicide I think), I made a comment on his Facebook saying he should ease off the Creed material, and that his sol...

Re: Tremonti on His Relationship With Stapp

I'm seriously jealous that you were in a position to go to all of those. The only ones who were gonna come to my area were Shinedown, and of course, it was gaffled. Yeah man! "The thinking man's Slipknot" as some people call them. They were always a band I considered exploring in high scho...

Re: Tremonti on His Relationship With Stapp

TLDR: Days of the New did it under much worse circumstances so the odds aren't out of favor for Creed. You never know. Tool and Guns N' Roses did it. However, I acknowledge that's not a fair comparison. Guns N' Roses is a staple of rock culture on the level of Led Zeppelin. As for Tool, they have be...

Re: Tremonti on His Relationship With Stapp

I agree with you in regards to Mark having a chip on his shoulder about Alter Bridge/Tremonti never being as big as Creed. All the critical praise, and rock elitist acceptance in the world didn't bring Alter Bridge a platinum album and maybe that upsets Mark because technically speaking he is showin...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Its funny how Stapp and Scott Weiland are parallels of each other in some ways. Creed and STP both reunited in 2008 but Weiland finished promoting and touring behind the double album he put out, while Stapp abandoned his and jumped straight back into Creed. I wonder how much more established he'd be...

Re: Richards/Crane feat. Myles Kennedy - Black & White

Is there a topic for Godsmack or Another Animal? I just wanted to find a place to post this song. I am so so disappointed Another Animal never went anywhere. I don't really care for Crane's other material, and I've long since gotten over Godsmack. But that debut album is pure gold. It basically answ...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Its complicated, and considering how much this band's music means to all of us, its inevitable that we get invested into what may be happening behind the scenes. To give an alternate perspective, when I was a teenager I used to take Mark's (and Alter Bridge fans) comments regarding Stapp very person...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

There is absolutely no way Creed could ever be Creed without Stapp or Mark. Mark's tone is extremely unique and his songwriting on a musical and lyrical level is just leagues above other Post Grunge bands. As for Stapp he is what people think of when they think of Creed. For better or worse, he will...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

For sure man. Somber should have easily been in Wake Up Call's place. If he does another one of those intimate fan shows, I'm going to ask him if he can re-release the original version, or start playing it live. Art of Anarchy fucking butchered that song in a way that's baffling to me. I also think ...

Re: Do you prefer Creed or Alter Bridge?

Yes sir! After Days of the New's first album (Yellow), Travis Meeks developed a huge ego and fired the other three members. At which point Todd Whitener, Jesse Vest and Matt Taul formed Tantric with Hugo Ferriera. In fact the song Breakdown was written specifically about Travis Meeks and lyrically c...

Re: Do you prefer Creed or Alter Bridge?

This is a very diplomatic thread! Great job guys! Let's keep it going. I expected a bunch of insults and "my band is better than yours" in spite of the fact that both bands have 75% of the same lineup. Regarding diplomacy I want to state my opinion while not taking away from the other band...
