Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Definitely encouraging that their list of best songs does NOT include the pre-release tracks. That's exactly what I thought when I read it. In The Deep (one of the songs mentioned on the best of list) will be the final single as well. On a different note, I'm really hoping the break from now until ...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

So is Slip To the Void, and I consider that more of an ‘epic’ song. I think the idea that a song needs to be 6+ minutes to be epic is overrated on this board. Sure, songs like Blackbird, CoA, and Fortress are some of my favorites, but to be quite honest, the two longer songs on TLH are not on my pe...

Shit seat or not, you'll love it... it's a great set!

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

A big reason I like going to rock gigs & bars is that personal beliefs and preconceptions seem to matter so much less there. Everyone is welcome, life gets left at the door and those there enjoy sharing in the music. We all have this in common. This new single has a cool sound. It's missing a 'h...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

I definitely prefer Wouldn’t You Rather over Show me a Leader. I felt like the echoing “No’s” in SMAL came off as kind of cheap and generic. I honestly wish they would chill on the layering of Myles’ vocal because he doesn’t need it. Sometimes it comes out sounding fantastic like the long, drawn ou...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

I watched/listened to this on YouTube yesterday through Apple bud headphones. I thought the video was simple and cool, and although on initial listen the chorus was my least favourite part of the song it's firmly in my head today. I personally didn't mind the mix but I do understand what some TABNer...

Some strings at the end of that sample maybe? I do hope so. Bring it on!

In other words, can we in Europe expect the single on Friday morning or rather evening?

Judging by recent events, it'll be 10 o'clock (somewhere).

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019

This probably isn't going to make much, if any sense at all but I'm not really looking for special treatment per se, I just want to be treated like everybody else, at least to the furthest extent that I can be. I don't think wanting to be able to see that big of a deal. With that said, I do appreci...

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019

Will buy tickets tomorrow for Amsterdam. Will be goiing with the complete family, celebrating my oldest daughters birthday that evening (and her favorite band = Shinedown !) It will be in AFAS-live, formerly known as Heineken Music Hall, the venue from the LFA-dvd. Saw them the last few years also ...

Re: Alter Bridge Walk the Sky Tour 2019

Just got my UK Arena tickets (Birmingham), including fees = £54 per ticket. I'd rather see AB in a smaller venue; I saw Slash et al in February, 3,000-3,500 capacity... absolutely great to be somewhere that size. I'm still absolutely thrilled to be seeing AB live again though... bring it on!

Indeed! On the night they sounded phenomenal... so much lost on the recorded mix. A real shame in my humble opinion.

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

I saw them in the UK in February. Slash was on good form, in fact they all were. This footage looked like it was cold and windy... leather jackets on. Not necessarily easy to play outside when it's cold and rainy. Myles' nose was bright red. Brrrrrrr!

Re: AB VI Speculation

Such mixed feelings about this. I definitely think they would be wise to change things up a little bit at this point in their career, but I pray its a good change and not something that we end up hating (i.e. something poppy or artificial). My hope is that Myles experice making a more stripped down...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

Finally got to watch this in full at the weekend. I agree that the orchestra could have been louder in the mix but overall it was thoroughly enjoyed by me, my husband and our two dogs. Nice drum sound through our TV sound system and generally well filmed. Really captured the essence of these special...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

[Call me old fashioned, naïve or plain uneducated but why should we (the customer) need to have some high-end music sound system to hear a decent sound? Didn't have sound bars or 5.1 when I was growing up but you could crank up the cassette playing in your car stereo and hear the component parts of...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

I don't have a high end sound system, but the bluray gives you the option to play in stereo or 5.1 surround, so I choose stereo. It sounds amazing, and I loved every minute of it. Mark's guitar is lower in the mix than I think it should be though, although on certain songs it's bang on. I've never ...
