Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine

Mark writing the types of vocal melodies and choruses he does is one of the main reasons I like his song writing so much. Perfect blend of heavy and melody for my tastes.

Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album

Fortress/Blackbird (too hard to decide)
The Last Hero
ABIII
One Day Remains

I'm still surprised by the number of people here that dislike The Last Hero.

yeah it's one of their best. it should have been on human clay, replacing inside us all. Whoa whoa whoa...while it should definitely have been on the album, it definitely should not have replaced Inside Us All. Yeah, it could've replaced Wrong Way or maybe even Wash Away Those Years. But I always l...

Re: Lost In Vegas reacts to Alter Bridge

Thanks for sharing this. I ended up watching this and other videos of theirs for 2+ hours last night. Very entertaining and insightful, and it reminded me of how I felt the first time I heard many of the songs.

Hence the song "The God That Failed" on the Black Album.

I think it was his mother actually, though I could be wrong.

Open Your Eyes is 1000000000000000000x better as a closing song than Rise Today is, IMO

I like to think that song establishes the notion that AB was going to go in a direction that isn't Creed pt. II

Metalingus sounds very much like a Creed song in my opinion.

100% agreed.

Re: The Last Hero - AB Nation Discussion

Honestly, after almost two months of hearing tracks, I still really really like Twilight. People felt that Fallout should have been taken off of ABIII, but I still really like that track as well. Those songs are just well constructed AB songs that I personally feel that people really overlooked the...

I'd consider Bleed It Dry potentially among one of AB's top 10 songs, personally. The whole thing, not just the solo section.

Re: Best Alter Bridge Album

For me I'd say it's:
Fortress>=Blackbird>The Last Hero>ABIII>=ODR

And I've been a fan since day 1 following Mark, Flip, and Brian over from Creed...so not all older fans like ODR the most.

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers - The Losers

Someone should do a track by track listing like we just did, but instead we vote for our least favorite song. I'd be interested to see how things compare. I really like that idea! Do want to take the honours and get things rolling then? Hmmmm...as long as people seem like they might be interested, ...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 15

New Way to Live. On a side note, it's a shame Alter Bridge only plays 5 or 6 songs off this 14 best-of list. If I were in the band and I saw those old songs are still massively popular, I'd play them from time to time. Oh god, please no. First of all, this forum has way too few users who vote on th...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 15

New Way to Live is the only good song here, and it's amazing at that. Easy vote. I really wish Breathe was a better song because it started out so promising when we heard the initial clip, but unfortunately it goes absolutely nowhere from there. The only part I like about Zero is the drum fill to op...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 14

I picked The Damage Done, though Words Darker Than Their Wings is reaalllllly close. Both fantastic songs. Last of Our Kind is also an excellent song that probably should have been on the album and not a B-side. Overall though it does sound a lot like a combination of Come to Life and Still Remains,...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 12

Save Me is just :facepalm not a good song. What's so bad about it? I'm not being snippy, I'm just curious what would you say. There's nothing special about the music that stands out, and I particularly just dislike the vocal melody (verse, chorus, and bridge). It just doesn't do anything for me at ...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 12

Ahhhhhhh, so many great songs, and then "Save Me". Had to go with Island of Fools, though I could see it going to Fortress or Coeur d'Alene depending on my mood. White Knuckles is only slightly behind those 3, but would win against many of the other songs that have won. Save Me is just :fa...
