Re: AB VI Speculation

Once again, this goes way too fast. They should work together in a room on those songs for a few months, not a couple of weeks. I don't know, just because they haven't necessarily been in the same room working on the songs for an extended period of time doesn't mean that they haven't spent a lot of...

What would freak you out more, skinhead Myles or hair metal Mark?

Re: The Official DREAM THEATER Thread

The whole album is pretty excellent. The songs definitely seem a lot more focused than they have in a LONG time now, and the benefits of it show. Not sure what my favorite songs are yet since I've only listened 2 times through, but this one is going to stay in my rotation far longer than The Astonis...

Weirds me out when I see an old post of mine and have literally zero memory of posting it. Like the opposite of the Mandela effect. It's funny you say that...at the beginning of this thread I specifically quoted and replied to one of your posts and I also have zero memory of posting it. I guess thi...

Great setlist though. Has a lot of really good stuff.

That set list is amazing. Not a single song on it that isn't great. Day one buy for me. Agreed minus the first the last. Who thought that was a good idea over a lot like sin/make it hurt? I wish they’d film in the US. I rock the fuck out Oh yeah, Make It Hurt should have definitely been in this lis...

Re: NEW! A Glimmer of Hope

I read the article and the following part in particular stood out to me: "When we were together doing the reunion tour, we put a lot of music together and I have like really sketchy little demos of probably 13 songs. I listened to them maybe a year ago and they're good songs. It's just, there's...

A Dying Machine - intro/main riff
Make It Hurt - intro/main riff
Desolation - Bridge (one of the best things Mark has ever written, period, IMO)

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

Fun fact, everyone. This DVD sold around 4,300 copies in the first week and charted #27 in the Billboard 200 according to this article. This sounds so ridiculously low. But if 4,3 k copies are enough to get a decent chart position, I'm cool with that. This is why bands have to tour so much and larg...

Does anyone know if this will be available in Best Buy or Walmart? Amazon has not only not shipped my order yet, but they haven't even charged me. There is no processing going on whatsoever. If I can get it at Best Buy or Walmart this weekend, I'll cancel my Amazon order today. Best Buy shows a SKU...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

That wasn't very good. Couldn't really hear the orchestral well - they didn't stand out. And Myles had little energy in his voice. He didn't sing it like on the record. Gee, I wonder if any other 48-year old (after endless touring with two bands) can sing a song today like they did 14 years ago. Fo...

Is there going to be a restock of the RAH Blu ray and Cd set? everything on the site is sold out :( If it's not on their site you can also pre-order it from Amazon. I think it's interesting that A Dying Machine was already up against Cauterize (and amazingly lost), yet this time around A Dying Machine is winning and Cauterize so far has 0 votes as of this writing.

Scott Stapp probably found out that you were visiting the AB Nation forums and requested that your account ...

Re: Peace Is Broken... Live?

Think it's Myles that's more concerned about the riff, probably quite hard for them both to sync up with each other as well. Agreed that it would be cool to see them try and pull it off eventually, but don't think there's Words Darker-esque fan demand for it (although, accordingly, a lot less expec...

Re: Why does AB ignore much of ODR in its live set?

You could say this about every one of their albums though...we're 5 albums into their catalog now and their setlists are usually about 18-19 songs long, and sometimes shorter if they're not headlining. If the sets were divided equally between their albums you'd still only get at most 4 songs per alb...

Re: Peace Is Broken... Live?

That's kinda fair. But I say why record something you know you can't or won't play live? It is a crazy riff... But the band jammed One Day Remains regularly for ages, also a pretty beastly riff... With a couple rehearsals, they could pull it off! Simple. Not every song a band records is played live...
