Re: Pawns & Kings (Alter Bridge - VII)

However, that run of the last four songs feels like vintage, grade-A Alter Bridge. Almost recaptures what I feel is a bit lost from the previous two albums. Isn't it great how subjectivity can lead to such agreement and disagreement? I would agree, with the exception being Pawns & Kings - the s...

Re: Top 10 Favorite Vocalists/Singers of all time?

^^ Jonny Hawkins is so good as a frontman that I think he gets overlooked as a singer. I love his tone and he has crazy good range and dynamics. Nothing More has become just about my favorite live act these days. This was from the show I saw last year in Iowa. It was my first time seeing them and I...

Song and Album of The Year Contender

Return To Dust. They recently released their album and it is a strong contender for my Album of The Year. I was never a big Nirvana or Alice in Chains fan but I really like this band. The two singers blend really well. I love this song which was the first one I heard from them. https://youtu.be/z5hs...

Every time I listen to Fortress I go....this is SUCH a good album. I remember seeing Calm The Fire live and my skin tingled.

Re: I had the time of my life!

Creed playing live together is something every human on earth needs to experience at least once. There is something unexplainable about the chemistry those guys share when they all play music together. I'm glad you had a really great time on the cruise, Mara. I really do. But something just bugs me...

Re: Pawns & Kings (Alter Bridge - VII)

Man, this album has aged so well. Can you tell me more? What do you mean, young Max? Like wine, cheese? I went back and listened to it a week or two ago (along with Walk The Sky) after a very long break period. It's still a 6 out of 10 for me (similar to Walk The Sky and The Last Hero). My song ran...

I didn't cringe until the chorus and said out loud, "Nope!". It actually sounded like I would have imagined if Scott was singing with his Southern accent.

Re: What are you listening to right now?

https://youtu.be/jYfb53AjQwc Freaking epic outro on this one. The whole album dropped and it's called Charismatic Leaders. If you're a fan of Tool knock-off bands like Soen, Rishloo or Lucid Planet it might be right up your alley. I like this band. I checked out their album and after the first list...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Since Kelly has asked me to keep some things secret between us, and since I do not want to portray her as a bad person when she really is good at heart and always had well intentions with our friendship, I cannot share much about why we chose to end it. All that I can say is that when she broke up ...

Re: What are you listening to right now?

I've been listening to a lot of Ad Infinitum lately as they will be opening for Kamelot on their upcoming tour, and damn I wish I'd been listening to this band from the start. Fantastic music (much of which sounds a lot like Walk the Sky-style AB), melodies, and songwriting. Adrian Thessenvitz is p...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

This is where the problems came in. The two tickets cost a total of $236.60, and Ticketmaster only reimbursed me $66.84. Therefore, I ended up losing $169.76 that I will never get back. What is even worse is that I feel like it is only fair that I split the loss equally with the person that I bough...

And Never Die / Say I: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/57bitrsKr2nJXfzy/?mibextid=w8EBqM Scott sounded really good on the softer portions of Never Die and he had very strong control on Say I. He's not BELLOWING and trying to catch his breath. Bravo! That's what I want to hear more of from him. The...

Re: Summer 2024 Tour and Summer of '99 and Beyond festival

Nice to see those genuine smiles on Mark's faith. But if I'm being perfectly honest, Stapp sounds flat and off key on songs he used to perform well enough even at his 2009-2010 lowest points (i.e. My Sacrifice). It's weird because he seems to be in good shape. It's nice to see his old school moves,...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

https://youtu.be/e1WflcC9msU Nice work, Max and Crumbs! After my first listen my notes are: Excellent clarity across the vocals, drums, and guitars. I especially like the whoa-ah-oh portions and the last 30 seconds or so of the outro. My only constructive comment is that your singing In the verses ...
