Re: Pawns & Kings (Alter Bridge - VII)
There is a Hi-Res Stereo release this time. Does anyone know how good is it?

Re: Marching In Time
I've avoided listening to singles, because nowadays promotional campaigns in music industry became so aggressive that you will potentially hear 80% of the album before it's been released, which will leave you with no suprises and some fatigue. After one listening all I can say that it had even less ...

Re: Alter Bridge: Tour of Horrors (Graphic Novel)
Serious midlife crisis vibe about all this comic book stuff. I get The Dying Machine book tie-in, but this...

Re: MK II
Am I imagining things or something had been done in Elvis'es department during Walk The Sky 2.0? I can actually hear instruments and little nuances.

Re: Walk The Sky Production Quality.
The should totally release remixed/remastered versions of their previous albums when they turn 20 in 2024.

Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album
Fortress – their most consistent and tight album, and also quite diverse. As a package, that's their best offer. One Day Remains – no bad songs, best production, very positive vibe and optimism. ABIII – their best streak of opening tracks, their most heartbreaking ballad (Wonderful Life), their best...

Re: What happened to the riffs?
I think that it's just their new direction since The Last Hero – stadium rock, giant wall of sound, all that stuff: their last album was pretty big in charts, they are no longer "that awesome rock group no one knows about". It's not that they've just forget how to write cool riffs – last T...

Re: Walk The Sky 2.0
Maybe because Elvis still thinks that Loudness War is still a thing in 2020.I don't know why they do that to themselves, again and again

Re: Walk The Sky 2.0
Sounds like some wrestler's/wrestling PPV theme to me. The only cool part is that sinister descending vocals.
I feel at this point that their modern rock/post-grunge roots is holding them back a lot.

Re: Oh, come on!
I finally heard the live version of Native Son on YT. Now nothing remines. I'm a native son in a foreign lond. Living in a world I can't understond. Why? My working theory is that Myles developed some voice-saving habits while singing for Slash (I am almost sure that it's because of the Guns'n'Rose...

Re: Walk The Sky 2.0
The real question – is this song co-written by Myles and Mark or is it made by one of them as most of the songs on the last album? Also, I see singles and EPs as a good thing. Releasing only LPs every 2-3 years doesn't look like a sustainable business model anymore in music industry, especially in r...

Re: Walk The Sky Reaction Thread
After listening album for two more times, I want to give an advice for those who are still struggling with this record: listen it with a volume slightly above the middle and take a walk during the process. Personally I always listen to music on the highest volume, but Walk The Sky sounds almost unli...

Re: Walk The Sky Reaction Thread
I've listened to it once and I want to say this: if The Last Hero left me disappointed, but it still had 6 songs that I can listen and enjoy, this album made me feel nothing (except Dying Light, it's a legit great song and the fact that Mark and Myles made it together tells a lot). For me, this reco...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
Two new 10 minute promotional videos about songwriting and recording insight: https://youtu.be/0lL3bLOplgA https://youtu.be/mQK43bJ965g So there are some mellotron sounds, just like I wanted - that's good! At one point Myles says that Elvis can change the sound of the keyboard part without the band...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
I think "You Will Be Remembered" could be a killer song if it's called "You Will Be Dismembered" and played by a different band.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
“Indoctrination” takes an artsy turn and the first minute of the song has a very stripped down feel. This song sounds like it was inspired by the Alice in Chains “Dirt” record. Does it mean what I think it means? Eerie vocal (dis)harmonies? It's funny that people were just talking about "Slip ...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
Yep, their newest music videos definetely should be thrown to the trash bin with stadium rock attempts and modern rock radio singles. They deserve better visual representation than this.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
This song I can refer to as «vintage Alter Bridge» and this song I immediately started again after first listen. First four singles are so generic to me that I honestly can't differentiate between them, this one brought me goosebumps twice during the first listen which happens almost never when I li...
