Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

The one issue I have with this, is that when I watch the bluray on my TV through my 2.1 stereo soundbar (quite powerful at total output of 360w), I cannot hear Mark's guitar at all. To hear it, I have to output sound from my TV also, and change the sound options to output Channel B only. Channel A ...

Re: The shortest distance between 2 points...

Super late to the party but thanks for these! No problem! I figured somebody would enjoy them. :) I thanked him above on Jan 4. If you didn't spend so much time driving in gigantic C shapes around me, you would have gotten to the party much sooner. Ahaha that's totally my bad. I don't enter this th...

Re: AB VI Speculation

All those bands were poppy from the start. Nothing wrong with trying to sound like a modern band. I'd rather have a fresh album from Alter Bridge than another 2000's throwback. Change is always gonna be subtle with Alter Bridge anyway, so we got nothing to worry about. I guess that's where we diffe...

Re: AB VI Speculation

Poppy would not be good IMO. I really don't hope that's what they mean.

There are only so many bands that I can hold onto that haven't conformed to the mainstream, and Alter Bridge is one of them. I hope to god that's not what Tremonti means.

Re: AB VI Speculation

Reminds me of what Christopher McQuarrie is doing with the Mission: Impossible films. If you know the franchise's history of every installment helming a new director except for the most recent two (with McQ behind the camera) and have seen those last two, then you know exactly what I'm talking about...

Re: Why does AB ignore much of ODR in its live set?

Honestly I think with this new album we may see some more ODR back into the set. Since not i don't see too much of TLH sticking around in the set maybe a song or two. Plus them adding in deep cuts like In Loving Memory, The End is Here and Shed My Skin on the last few legs of TLH tour is promising....

Re: AB VI Speculation

I would definitely do the listening party if it was in my area, but I'm not going to Orlando to do it. Same with the studio hangout thing. $2,000 is a lot and if I was a more established musician that would be my dream, but the extra added costs of a cross-country travel + lodging (combined with my ...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

Those who watched the dvd/blu-ray with a surround system, does anyone feels that the sound of the orchestra in Blackbird is a bit low, for the most part? I mean, the arrangements in this song are smoother but, for example, the instrumental part right after the second chorus, i hear better the crowd...

Re: AB VI Speculation

TLH cannot sound good no matter how good or calibrated of a system that you have. It has clashing frequencies, harsh mixing (near distortion/clipping levels), and no dynamic range. I don't know how to be finicky with any of the tools, but I wish I could have been sitting right there with 'Elvis' and...

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I've only run like once or twice since then. Obviously I have a new year's resolution to get back into it, heh. But nevertheless, it was pretty good of me to achieve!

Re: The Movie Thread

A Simple Favor , starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, is freakin hilarious. Kendrick is so adorable and she is so good at those naive quirky outrageous comedy moments, and Lively is a great contrast as the hot, ultraconfident, in-your-face bad ass. Their characters play off each other so well a...

Re: AB VI Speculation

Which tracks are those? I'm obviously being facetious. The album was a wall of noise though. Layers upon layers of instruments and vocals, hardly a breath to be had. There was no reason for You Will Be Remembered to double-time its riffs during the verses and up the treble on the notes. It was grat...

Fuck

I think he meant just too many clashing parts. There is no reason why tracks need like fourteen riffs going on at the same time.

Re: I made a version of Words Darker Than Their Wings with the Orchestra higher in the mix (from Live At The Royal Alber

Nicely done. I started this once, spent about five minutes on it, then had to stop and do something else and completely forgot about it. If you have the raw aup file as well that would be killer! I was thinking about compressing the dynamics of the orchestral audio mix so some parts aren't noticeabl...

Tempo is not perfectly aligned. Studio version keeps a constant BPM and this has several alterations. It's definitely doable but is not just a one-and-done mapping.

So what’s happening here ? Is this thread really turning out to be one that tells us how bad this dvd/cd is ? Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

I'm sure you have done some variation of this already - but I'd love some sort of how-to guide on getting better audio tracks for my phone/car as I'm sure others would as well. You may just save Alter Bridge lol Somebody else has, but I found some of the low end to be too distorted in some aspects ...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

I'm not doing that as well. If I think it's a good product, then it's a good product to me and I wouldn't change it one bit, and this DVD is a good product to me. Sure, there are flaws and whatever, but I didn't notice or care about it at all and it's really not anything worth me exerting energy or...
