Re: Marching In Time

I think there's a huge difference between "melody" and blatantly obvious pop. Some of these choruses I'd expect from Nickelodeon / Disney Channel type of bands. It just sounds heavier because of the distortion, and because Mark doesn't sound like Ariana Grande. If you like that blend of s...

Re: Marching In Time

I can understand that people like Tremonti as a band and enjoy this record. What I don't get is all those insane reviews giving it a 9/10 or a 10/10. Have those reviewers ever heard an actual masterpiece? Those things are pretty rare if you ask me. I'm a bit older than most people here, and I've lis...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Shoudn't we talk about this in a Creed thread?
I'm glad to read Mark is now thinking positively about Creed, but it seems all we're gonna get is a short tour like the 2009 and 2010 ones.

Re: Marching In Time

Totally, but I doubt Mark is capable of writing a chorus that isn't overblown, pompous and blatantly melodic. Having 4 chords that are being repeated is an easy way out. But yeah, if you tune starts out like Slayer and plows your ears through the verses and pre-chorus and then turns into pop rock i...

Re: Marching In Time

The thing that sounds a bit weird to me and which happens a bunch of times on the album is the juxtaposition of some unbelievably fantastic heavy thundering thrash intro riffs that then morph into beautiful soaring almost arena rock quality choruses. Both by themselves are so good, but they sort of...

Re: Ides of March Tour

I absolutely love the MF4 songs. The lyrics are totally organic and heartfelt and honest. Youth and pain and confusion are amazing muses and Myles should never apologize for or be embarrassed by that. Agreed. The MF4 were an amazing band. IMHO, artists in general should not self-depricate too much ...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Life's too short to care about relationships between two musicians. I doubt anyone here really cares too much about it, you know. Talking about your favourite bands is just a hobby like many others. Some people enjoy talking about cars. Some people enjoy talking about video games. Some people enjoy...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

No hostility meant towards you ; sorry if it came across that way. Thanks for clearing that up. That's the issue with forums and the Internet in general: we never truly know the intention behind written words. You worship the first Creed-albums and I think these were just a musical development towa...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Why so much hostility? Aren't we allowed to have conversations about his career? Isn't that what fan forums are for? I'm leaving the man at peace, you know. I have no ill will towards him, and wish him the best. I just think he's making bad choices again and again (e.g. working with Elvis), and that...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

You still don’t get it do you ? If you are (very) happy with what you are currently doiing……………………… Does being happy pay the bills? Don't forget playing in a band is Mark's job. Please explain to me how he is going to make a buck on the forecoming Daughtry and Sevendust tour. 9 years into his solo ...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Creed had an insane momentum from 1997 to 2002.
Tremonti, on the other hand, has been stagnating for years, if we're only talking about popularity. Unlike Alter Bridge, it still hasn't gone bigger and bigger with each new album cycle. Who knows, that may happen that year...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

The crowd's reaction.
Playing in front of a crowd who knows every word of your hit songs has got to be one of the main reasons professional musicians go out on tour.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Can anyone convince Mark, in 2021 and beyond, on why he personally should invest in doing Creed again without bringing up money or the fact that they are the bigger band? Please, I would like to hear a convincing answer. It's simple: a lot of fans still LOVE those 1997-2001 songs, and it reminds th...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

because stapp is the only guy of creed who actually likes creed i think. I doubt that. I'm pretty sure Flip and Brian would love to do some Creed shows again, but they can't really say it out loud because of Mark's issues with Stapp. They've already wasted so many years without a single Creed show....

Re: Marching In Time

Wow, I love Marching In Time! Absolutely horrendous sonics, though. Criminal. Usually, you know I'm not a fan of Elvis' work, but it doesn't bother me as much on this song as on The Last Hero, Walk the Sky or the thrashy Tremonti songs. There's not as much distortion on Marching in Time, and I can ...

Re: Marching In Time

A Dying Time becomes epic during the bridge, but I agree the beginning ot the song isn't epic at all.
