Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

So, I watched it last night. Here are my thoughts. Positive: - Flip killed it. In a show with an orchestra, the drummer is more essential than ever, and he was on point the whole night. Kudos to him! - Even though the bass was low in the mix, it was nice to hear some BMarsh bass lines here and there...

Re: Why does AB ignore much of ODR in its live set?

That's what I said in my earlier message. Mark is apparently still practicing a lot and writing all the time, so his playing should be even tighter than it was in the past!

Re: AB VI Speculation

Secondly, lose Elvis. He's done great things with this band but I think after the Last Hero was less well received a change would be good. Bring in a fresh mind who can push the band to their full potential. It's not gonna happen. I'm ready to bet he'll keep on producing every Alter Bridge/Tremonti...

I don't understand how anyone can get sloppier on guitar. If you're a tight player, you usuaully remain so until arthritis kicks in at old age.
It's not like he's stopped practicing.

He's in great physical shape and he stopped smoking.
It's no wonder his voice is almost back to what it used to be.
If you treat your body right, you'll get results.

Re: Cauterize Production

Metallica hasn't had a good sounding album since 1998. St. Anger had some of the most horrible drums ever recorded. Death Magnetic was stupidly loud, and it took them 8 years to put a somewhat listenable version on iTunes and the Metstore. Hardwired to Self Destruct was a step in the right direction...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

That note by Myles was great. BUT (there's always a but), after two songs, I've gotta say I'm underwhelmed by the orchestral arrangements. They don't add much to the songs, and sometimes, the orchestra is barely audible. I reckon mixing so many instruments must be tough, but Metallica managed to do ...

My Creed Nation account has just been deleted for no reason. I understand when people get banned when they post offensive posts. But banning someone because he's just a lurker? Who does that? Scott Stapp probably found out that you were visiting the AB Nation forums and requested that your account ...

I think it's the biggest issue.
He used to have an amazing ear for clean and distorted tones, and it just doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Re: Mark's sound in live recordings

They won't sort it, because they genuinely think it's currently great (same thing for the Elvis production or the ear-piercing album listening parties). Mark keeps saying "it it ain't broken, don't fix it" during interviews, so I wouldn't have too much hope about an improvement of any sort...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

He's sounding great indeed. Even on his best days over the last 3 years, he's usually had pitch issues while singing this chorus. Just imagine how good a Creed record would sound nowadays with that voice... Onto the next solo album: https://scontent-bru2-1.cdninstagram.com/vp/10785cb7cd6dbd01e0e8acb...

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

Unimpressive song.
Also, the kick drum is a bit too loud in the mix, and I can't focus on the rest of the instruments.

A very good point.
I hope they realize it was a bad idea to have Myles self-harmonize.

Re: More Mark Lead Vocals, or just more harmonies?

Just harmonies for me.
He has his own band, and to be perfectly honest, I don't think he's that good of a lead singer. He's definitely trying to improve, and I salute him for his efforts, but it still sounds average to me for the most part.

Work with a producer who will push you to do new things.
Don't bring any riff, and write full songs in a room, as a band.
Take risks.

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

We don't hear enough of the orchestra, and to be honest, I'm not sure it adds much to the song.
A slower song or an epic one would have made a better first impression IMHO.

Total Guitar Magazine [United Kingdom] (August, 2018) https://image.ibb.co/jmMCmd/3.jpg Faceless Man used to be his favourite. It's a weird choice, since he's only played it 18 times. https://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/creed-3bd6bcc8.html?song=Time Also, notice how he says "Back in the Creed d...

Re: Should the Conspirators keep on playing GNR songs?

I think they should not play any GNR songs anymore. It doesn't make much sense, and they have enough songs of their own.
