Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

But...but... All three of those are great songs. Coming Home and One By One are two of my favorites from the album. They're great to you, but no to me. Just to be clear, in no way am I saying my tastes are better than yours, because I think music is a very suggestive thing. Each listener has his ow...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

I'd rather have a short album with no fillers than a longer album with a couple of fillers. Look at ODR: I think it's perfect as it is, and if a couple of the B-sides that were recorded during those sessions had been included in the tracklist, the album would be way less impressive as a whole. On th...

Don't get your hopes up.
Brickwalling usually happens during the mastering phase.

As to the album, all I can say is that I wish there had only been 11 tracks.

Re: GW

Here's the article about David Kinkade: "I decided two months ago that music is no longer worth the effort to me anymore. After this, I'm going to retire from drumming and music all together and focus on my family rather than myself. "I've fought my hardest for 'my dream' in music over the...

Re: GW

It's more than a probability. I remember a former drummer for Soulfly (David Kinkade) who said he was making MUCH more money building railroads. If you're just a hired gun and don't make money from the streaming and merch in a small-ish band, there comes a time where you have to think about your fut...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Well, not for me. You can call it negativity, but believe me when I say I was extremely excited when the reunion and Full Circle were announced. I was convinced they would bring that old Creed magic back, and since Mark's previous record was Blackbird, I thought Creed would reach new levels and beco...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

1. Stapp is too old to get a hit record. Sad but unfortunately true. Aside from us hardcore fans, no one actually cares... 2. He nails the old Creed tunes. He just can't sing faster songs with high notes, but for a reason I can't understand, he keeps recording that kind of tracks. 3. I highly doubt ...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

I can hear the style similarity between Wake up and New Day Coming. I'm not a fan of those anthemic pop songs, and I really don't understand what he's trying to achieve with those. It feels to me like he's doing those songs for his wife, and not for his fanbase. Or maybe he still thinks he has a sho...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

That's tremendous news. I've always thought they should bring full songs to the sessions instead of playing this puzzle game with parts. This way, songs will have more identity, which can only benefit the album as a whole.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

By the way, it's the easy thing to bash Stapp's musicians, and many of his haters do, but I think they're doing a more than decent job.
It would really bum me out to hear Mark ruin the Creed songs once again tempo-wise and ton-wise if there was a Creed reunion. If you ever do it, do it right!

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

He liked the Instagram post with the new guitar player that was posted by Stapp, and he has a new book coming out, so I guess he had to promote it this week and will be back soon. @alterbridge86: wow, the end really took me by surprise. IMHO, this song works better acoustically, and this is how it s...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Here's a radio acoustic performance, with a new guitar player who sounds tight (his name is Sammy Boller).

Stapp has a bit of grit in his voice, which is also nice.

It's a shame we didn't get the full 2016 board. I hope they'll correct that mistake with the 2019 one.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

He's sounding terrific on My Sacrifice. Which singer can sound that close to the record 18 years after a song was released? This just made me realize that it's ben 18 years since Creed released an album that actually sounded like Creed. 18 long years. Can you guys imagine all the hits they could/sho...

What I remember about this picture is that every time an interviewer asked Stapp about that photo and how it felt to meet Myles, he acted like he didn't hear the question properly and said how great it was to meet Slash, because he loved the GNR... etc

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

I just heard Name on Youtube.
I hope it's a bad rip, because the guitars are heavily distorted, in a bad way.
Not a fan of the echo on vocals and of the self-harmonizing either.
Still one of Stapp's best solo songs, and probably his biggest shot at a new hit single. Push it, Napalm!
