Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

So Myles is allowed to have side projects and Slash isn't? He didn't tell the Conspirators to fuck off. Neither did Myles when he went off to record Fortress and The Last Hero. They are all reasonable adults, which is why they all keep making music together.

Haha no, it's just a show I started watching because of her. We're watching Game of Thrones together now because that's something I really like.

Re: What are you watching right now?

Anyone else watch The 100? All the stupidity of the middle of season 2 was salvaged by a very good season finale. Wonder if they'll do a season 7 Very happy to have the new season of Better Call Saul back on now. I watch it with my girlfriend. It's pretty entertaining, but sometimes the characters ...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

It could be a bit louder and clearer, but I for the rest I disagree. The orchestra adds so much. The staccato part in the second verse, the horn or trumpet before the last chorus. The entire outro is beautifully arranged.... During the harder parts it's not that obvious, but it still fills so many s...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

This is what they're the best at, and the orchestra is just a perfect fit. I really, really hope they were inspired by this performance.

The crowd applauding the high note is so beautiful.

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

How audible is the orchestra in this one compared to the Addicted to Pain recording?

Re: Lyric Writing

Because I was not getting songs finished I started limiting myself. I used to spend weeks on a song and then dismiss it because I couldn't find the right words or wasn't happy with the way it turned out. Now I give myself one hour to write the actual song, one hour to record it instrumentally (full ...

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

So I heard Dancing Rain on the classic rock radio station (which is probably mainly due to Slash's reputation, especially in LA) in SoCal today (not only that, but the DJ talking also gave a shout-out to the album release date and the upcoming show in LA). Like I said, it's not a bad unlistenable t...

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

Myles doesn't have pitch issues. Like every singer he uses subtle pitch correction in the studio, but he he's the kind of singer that chooses pitch over tone nowadays, opposed to the ODR days.

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

It's an okay song, but this is the sound they pull off the best. When Apocalyptic Love was released I thought they bonus tracks, Crazy Life and Carolina, were some of these best on that album, because they had an Aerosmith kind of vibe. This song reminds me of those tracks. Sure it's polished and ha...

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

It's doesn't have a Dirty Girl/Bad Rain vibe, if that's what you're afraid of. It's very riff based, but in a poppy, upbeat way. Maybe a bit Withered Delilah-ish, but more accessible.

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

I like it a lot. It has that laid back/70's rock vibe that Crazy Life also had. I think this is what this band does best.

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

Hearing some very strong Aerosmith vibes. Kinda I was kinda worried when I heard about the Bad Rain comparison, but it's a completely different song. The bridge isn't even Bad Rain but Standing In The Sun, and it was obviously done on purpose. Nothing new for them, but done very well, I think. Great...

-Write songs. I don't care if every song has the same structure. I don't care how progressive the songs are... Just write songs.
-Use an orchestra... Please be influenced by the RAH experience.
-Spend more time on it

Beatles' Blackbird intro.
