Re: The Hobbit/LOTR

If it's a pre-Fellowship and a post-Hobbit story, I'm slightly worried, because there simply isn't that much original material they can fall back on. If it's something from The Silmarillion, I'd be extremely excited. And yea.. Peter Jackson, as much as I love him and the original trilogy, should sta...

I'm sure you've all heard about this by now.

Thoughts? My expectations aren't too high, but I'm still really intrigued.

I'm glad he at least rerecorded one song from the first album.

Re: Walking Papers

I prefer their debut over most GNR related albums since the 90's, including Velvet Revolver and The Conspirators, so I'm with you on that one.

Re: Tremonti pt #4

If I'd ever had the opportunity to interview the guys my questions would be either super insightful or super ridiculous like that question.

Like 50/50. The key is to find the sweet spot where the themes connect.

Re: Royal Albert Hall Setlist/Speculation

It creates a nice contrast. Myles's part is more bombastic with the half time beat and the souring bends. Mark's solo (and technique in general) is faster and tighter, so the orchestra just accents certain note and holds back so it doesn't sound muddy. I'm pretty sure they're still playing though.

Re: What are you watching right now?

Finished the season yesterday! The last two episodes were spectacular! I think I liked season 1 better, but this ending was more of a pay-off. I've got so much love for this show.

I just finished episode 4. It definitely picked up with episode 3. Today's my day off. To binge or not to binge?

Re: Myles's solo album

To be fair. It's not the one we've been waiting for for 8 years (which could be good or bad.. Who the hell knows). His first solo album will always remain to be some kind of myth.

BUT HYPE!!! :cloud9

Re: Books/What are you reading?

I've had Dune on my bookshelf with a mental "to read" note attached to it for years but still haven't got round to it. I will commit here to it being in my next five to read! Got re-addicted to Haruki Murakami of late, re-read the ones I already had of his and then got more (my set is nea...

Re: Official TRIVIUM Thread

I really like the new album. Love the melodies and instruments. The (extreme) metal side of this band is just infinitely times better than the hard rock side of this band, which makes it a bit unbalanced in my opinion. The singer's clean voice doesn't always do it for me, though there are of course ...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Getting old is better than the alternative. True. And you must remember that time is more kind for you guys than for women. A guy in his 40s is an attractive middle-aged man, with a touch of grey hair, with position and money. A 45-year old woman has little market value. What's more, we have to dec...

Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)

People can't even properly clap along with it, lol (seriously, what the hell was that beginning?) Ah, that's a typical German thing. Even though I thought that this was more of an elder generation issue and that by now German audiences know how to clap rhythmically. Superior Aryan race my ass. I be...

Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)

People can't even properly clap along with it, lol (seriously, what the hell was that beginning?) Back in 04 it would've been a great closer, especially with the extra dosage of passion. Now it would just be confusing (as much as I like the song, and the fact that they played it). If they'd have to ...

Just gave Betrayer a listen because of a feature on UG. Pretty impressive. The Sin And The Sentence is awesome as well.
