Re: Favourite promo track?

Pay No Mind. It's the one where they're making the biggest statement, and it's the most memorable of the four.

So is Ties That Bind. Fantastic song, I'd say.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

I'm far more excited about the four new songs. While there are some elements I have some issues with, there are also many elements that I like. I don't like the production of the songs, but I like the addition of the synths, for example. Both Pay No Mind and In The Deep are the most "different&...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Is this how we are as well when people talk smack about AB?

Depends if you can tell if the person has given them a fair chance or not.

Lol, disjointed. Tool's 10+ minutes songs are generally more cohesive than the average Alter Bridge song.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

It's like Take You With Me mixed with Never Say Die.

Love the song. The only really "weird" moment for me is when the intro goes to the bridge. For the rest I think it's got a great flow.

In all honesty didn't read the entirety of your parking post and figured it was for an AB show, lol.

That's got nothing to do with production.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Pearl Jam and Soundgarden have two guitarists. Both bands do plenty of layering with guitar parts, particularly Soundgarden. Outside example but Snarky Puppy has a billion different instruments and extremely complex music, yet perhaps the best production (you can isolate every little thing recorded...

Re: Wouldn't You Rather

The spot above that, the song that Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapleton, and Bruno Mars did has 162 more spins than Wouldn't You Rather and I don't think it's going to drop anytime soon. That song is actually pretty decent and at least, it comes from three guys from the pop world that's respectable artists ...

Isolation has the best hook, but ATP has better energy. I think both are excellent singles, and great representatives of the band.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Like I said: with the exception of one or two songs.

But I don't think Rise Today is their weakest single. It's a well-constructed song that's well-suited for the (gasp) radio. Don't see what's wrong with that. I prefer it to any of the singles from the last two albums, besides maaaybe Pay No Mind.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

This "the singles are always the worst songs on the album" argument just doesn't work for me. Just look at the first three singles from the first four records (according to Wikipedia): -Open Your Eyes -Find The Real -Broken Wings -Rise Today -Watch Over You -Ties That Bind -Isolation -I Kn...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Way better than Wouldn't You Rather, but Pay No Mind is still my favorite from the three. The "so sorry" lyrics are kinda dumb, and I think Myles sounds very unconvincing in this song... That's weird coming, considering how well he pulled off songs like White Knuckles and other agressive s...
