Re: The Star Wars Thread (The Last Jedi Teasers Inside)

I think a KOTOR miniseries like Band of Brothers that only goes for 1 season would be amazing. Could probably stretch it out to 2 since things like rescuing Bastilla at the very beginning might be better drawn out so it doesn't feel rushed. @cheesedip, I didn't care for TFA much at all. I feel that ...

I love if you pay online there's a convenience fee but if you pay in person the inconvenience fee is 2x the convenience fee.

Re: The Star Wars Thread (The Last Jedi Teasers Inside)

Honestly, I don't think a Han Solo movie should have been made in the first place, and Woody Harrelson...what? BUT the saving grace of this turd sandwich was going to be big daddy Kasdan (Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark) was writing it along with his son. The 2 chuckle heads they got to...

Re: Royal Albert Hall Setlist/Speculation

I was just thinking about how cool the intro to Slip to the Void could be with some deep resounding instruments like bigger horns and some light eerie flutes over it. So moody!

Re: Royal Albert Hall Setlist/Speculation

For me based on what I think might sound best with an orchestra (in no particular order) I'd wanna hear: One Day Remains Down to My Last Shed My Skin In Loving Memory Burn it Down (honestly anything off ODR with the exception of Watch Your Words) Brand New Start Blackbird Watch Over You (plz no Rise...

Re: Royal Albert Hall Setlist/Speculation

I'd really love to hear a version of Shed My Skin or Down to My Last with an orchestral accompaniment

Re: Royal Albert Hall DVD

"The Parallax Orchestra conducted by Simon Dobson"

So I'm guessing the orchestra will be in charge of writing their sections. I wonder if even songs like Metalingus will get an accompaniment or what could even be heard over the guitars in songs like Isolation.

Re: Video Game Bonanza!

Soooo Bethesda plans to keep milking FO4 via VR and Skyrim while simultaneously introducing paid mods. Swing and a miss! Skull & Bones lookes 90% the same as the Assassin's Creed pirate mechanics. I'm guessing it's ok because it's still Ubisoft but like...apart from getting multiplayer out of it...

Re: Video Game Bonanza!

@ Assassin's Creed, I hear ya. They are one of the most repetitive titles I've seen, I doubt this one will be much different once the novelty of the bow mechanic wears off but I'm a sucker for desert adventures. I just saw the preview for Anthem, have you seen that one yet? It looks pretty interesti...

Re: Video Game Bonanza!

So is it open world? Looks like Farcry meets Metro now. Could be interesting, I just hope it has enough of the previous Metro vibes that made it unique. I really liked the fear of being on the surface in the old titles. I really like the new Assassin's Creed setting. I feel like it's the first one I...

Riff should have been done in a lower octave or replaced with the solo pattern altogether. Lyrics are pretty cheeseball. :shrug

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Woooo! Internet famous! :cheers I'm surprised nobody is talking about the Comey hearing on here. Trump tweeted today that he was completely vindicated by yesterday's hearing while simultaneously calling it lies. Vindicated in the sense that Comey said he was never under investigation as part of the ...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

There's this really cool idea called Project Starshot that could potentially get to another solar system and send us pictures within 24 years of leaving. Using small technology and not having to worry about carrying humans, propulsion, or survivability they can get the entire payload down to a few g...

Re: What grinds your gears?

I really hate how cheap luggage is vs how much it costs. Some plastic, a little bit of aluminum and some "durable" fabric and I have to pay $150 bucks for an item that tears at the zipper the 2nd time I use it? Had to duct tape and superglue it back together to keep my stuff from falling o...

Thanks Lotha :D I occasionally read "if you were looking for a cheap hobby, this isn't it", but honestly, unless you're gonna take up by the numbers needlepoint I feel like most things we're interested in require investments in time and money to master. Hopefully it will be well spent! @Ti...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Almost right! Ninety minutes of exposure time, not 1 single exposure. For the signal to noise ratio, one 5 minute exposure is equivalent to stacking five 1 minute exposures so you can stack as much time as you need to get the details you want. What you're saying is 100% correct that over time you lo...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Straight up, it's not great. I'm primarily going after deep space objects (DSO) first because that's where my interests lie, but typically planetary telescopes are all about large apertures first and then longer focal lengths that can take advantage of the higher resolution and tons of light that ap...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Awesome shot! Do you do it straight from the camera or through a telescope for that? Moar galaxies. Is this a good time of year for Andromeda itself? Thanks! I mount my ancient Canon 450D to the back of a telescope with a 2" T-Adapter then control the exposures with my laptop. This was about 1...
