Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

10 minute interview, with acoustic performances of Wouldn't You Rather and In Loving Memory https://www.facebook.com/1055WDHA/videos/vb.67102089609/730756624014385/?type=2&theater "You've gotta listen to the words of this song because it gives the song a sort of whole new meaning." :f...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Heck, after AB III came out, I told myself I wish they took a song like WDTTW and established for themselves that they take 5-7 years of time and make a 10-track album that contains the breadth and feel that song has, in terms of "epic" status. I personally don't think they need that long...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

We challenge ourselves to not repeat ourselves and find new inspiration to add a different layer to what we do. It's kind of amusing. For all the talk that is constantly mentioned every press cycle about doing something new, not repeating themselves and always trying to switch it up, different prod...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

There'll prolly be another ballad on this album for acoustic sessions in lieu of Wouldn't You Rather. At least I hope so.

I got a novelty version of one of these on ebay but this is the first time I've seen the actual gold disks. Would pay good money for one of those. Hands down, favorite album of all time.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Song kinda sounds like Skillet featuring Alter Bridge, especially in the intro. It's ok but I'm still waiting for something I want to hear twice in a row off this album.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

I also love all the sound engineers and producers on this site lol would love to see 75% of ppl on this forum mix and master a song let alone an entire album. Meh. I don't have to be a software engineer to say an app on my phone has poor usability, bugs and features don't work. I don't have to be a...

Re: Books/What are you reading?

Gave up on Wheel of Time for now. Felt like i was reading the part of LOTR where The Hobbits need to make it to the Prancing Pony except it went on for ages and I got to hear every last thought that went through their heads. Might go back to it later but for now I started reading Gardens of the Moon...

Re: The Game of Thrones Thread.

Trying to figure out what the point of Jon's true lineage was. Seemingly the only impact it had was getting Varys killed. There was absolutely no point to tell his sisters that he was actually their cousin instead of the half brother, and if that was truly what drove a wedge between him and Dany eno...

Re: The Game of Thrones Thread.

I think they had another dragon die so that Jon has no easy way of challenging her now that he can ride them. But yeah, "my babies! :(" works too.

Re: The Game of Thrones Thread.

The prophesy from Maggy the Frog said that Cersei would be killed by one of her brothers (the valonqar), didn't it? Those were some nice expectations you had there. It would be a shame if someone were to...SUBVERT THEM! Seriously, having Jamie inadvertently lead her to her death was somewhat of a l...

Re: Books/What are you reading?

Mistborn had a bit of young adult flavoring, particularly in the second book with all the will she / won't she romance stuff that I didn't particularly care for, but it really came through as an overall experience. His website says "If you’re a younger reader or want something humorous and ligh...

Re: The Game of Thrones Thread.

I'm hoping they don't give Arya the killing stroke for Cersi. She already had her big moment with the Night King. My hope is they give it to Jamie so he can add QueenSlayer to his resume. With all the artificial tension they keep setting up in these episodes now, it would also make sense that they a...

Re: Books/What are you reading?

I decided to get more into reading recently and finished about 6 books in as many weeks. The first 3 were the main Mistborn trilogy and my first introduction to the author Brandon Sanderson. Fantastic magic system, consistent and plausible reveals throughout all three books and a really good culmina...

Re: The Game of Thrones Thread.

As for Jon not being injured by fire, that's a Targaryen thing, right? I haven’t seen this explanation yet, but I had forgotten about this. Good catch. I don't think so, otherwise Viserys wouldn't have gone out like a punk. That battle was fun to watch but rather pointless. They KNEW the NK was goi...
