Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album

Dude. Calm The Fire is a work of art and top 5 Alter Bridge, and Myles sounds like a god on the chorus.

Re: Favourite promo track?

I’m going to give the nod to Take the Crown. I love the pre chorus and the ‘We Come To Life’ callback is awesome. Pay No Mind is just barely behind it.

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread

Random thought, but I’ve been listening to ABIII lately and I’m just now starting to appreciate it more after 9 years. I was disappointed at first because of the lack of solos compared to Blackbird which I was in love with, and the shift in tone, and I guess I hung on to that for a while. I mean, I...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

First that reviewer had In the Deep on the list of best tracks, and Myles is saying it as well. I don’t get it. It’s an extremely short song for Alter Bridge comprised mostly of chorus. This is why I trust Marks judgment more, lol, his favorite is Godspeed which is probably way better than ITD.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

I think the reviewer who included ‘In the Deep’ as one of the top tracks on the album was on crack, at least I hope he was.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Tool is garbage. I’d rather listen to In the Deep on repeat for 24 hours straight than listen to that pretentious, disjointed nonsense.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

I’m hoping we hear some good things from the reviews of the listening party. I’m still pumped for the Mark/Myles mashup and Mark said his favorite track is Godspeed, so I have high hopes for those two in particular.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Yeah, they both just have this ‘bouncy’ feel to them but that’s pretty much where the similarities end.

I’ll give that to them, all of these songs have pretty much been totally different from anything they’ve done before.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

The only thing that kinda sorta maybe comes close is Break Me Down. Oh. It doesn't sound anything like Break Me Down. Honestly they don't have anything in their category that sounds like this song. No, not really. I looked through all their songs and that was the only one I could possibly mention. ...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

I admit i had higher expectations because of the general feeling that this was going to be the best single, and the only review we have listing it as one of the best songs on the record. I expected something soaring like BNS, so this is probably the most jarringly disappointed I’ve been with an AB s...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

I like Pay No Mind, and Take the Crown is pretty cool.

I’m still looking forward to Forever Falling, Dying Light, Godspeed, and Clear Horizon, so there’s still hope.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

With what I’ve heard so far, the shorter on average track lengths are starting to worry me. Shorter songs, combined with rushed/bad mixing is not a good sign. I hand waved it away before, but this band thrives on 5+ minute songs. Add all of this together and it feels like Alter Bridge is now the sid...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Sucks for me to say, but even though I’ve liked some things about the four songs we’ve heard so far, the overall feeling I’m getting is that the guys were so busy with their other projects that they got together, said ‘Fuck it, here’s some stuff we can piece together real quick and tour off of. Ok c...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

Completely agree with Muffin. AB have been my favorite band since I was 15 years old, and I honestly believe several of their songs are some of the best in rock history, but they do have issues at times and there’s nothing wrong with pointing that out. I think Myles sounded thin and slightly nasally...

Re: 15th anniversary of One Day Remains

It’s a great album, but I definitely disagree that it’s natural Alter Bridge. Mark wrote pretty much everything and it still had a lot of that Creed flavor, I’ll agree with that, but it was basically Creed pumped up on super steroids. I love the riffs and guitar work, but the band didn’t really ‘bec...

Re: The Official "Myles Kennedy RULES!" Thread (Fort Myles)

I don’t think any other lyrical repetitions he does come anywhere close to the ‘deny’ thing, but I’m pretty sure I’ve heard him use the phrase ‘save tomorrow’ a few times. He also likes ‘forevermore.’ I think there are one or two more but I can’t remember them off the top of my head. Gotta love him.

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread

The people in the Alter Bridge Facebook group are psychopaths. They’re doing battle of the tracks polls for each album, and not only did Before Tomorrow Comes beat Brand New Start, Addicted To Pain just handily topped Calm The Fire. I literally can’t even right now. To the post above, I love seeing ...
