Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread

That first lead up to release tends to make that record a persons favorite just due to nostalgia. I was put on to them when someone posted a link to the video for Open Your Eyes on a fucking Nickelback forum, lmao. Watched that video and immediately searched out this site. That was mid 2007 and I wa...

Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album

I find myself appreciating ODR more and more lately. It’s so clean and melodic.

Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album

It’s funny, I’ve always thought the general consensus was that ABIII was one of the bands weaker albums, but the people in the Alter Bridge Facebook group recently had a battle of the albums poll and it came down to ABIII vs Blackbird. Blackbird won, obviously, but ABIII convincingly beat Fortress i...

Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album

Best: Blackbird. It’s tough to choose between this and Fortress from a quality standpoint, but the massive nostalgia factor puts BB over the top. Worst: The Last Hero. I actually hate saying the word ‘worst’ in relation to any AB album, because they all have fantastic parts, but a good bit of TLH is...

Re: 15th Anniversary!

Man, time has flown by. I was 15 years old when I adopted Alter Bridge as my favorite band, and that still hasn’t changed. I’m not much for going to concerts, I’ve only ever seen the band live at Rock On the Range in 2011 after they released ABIII. Most of my memories and nostalgia are of this board...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Anybody else ever search out and look through the old board before the move? I just randomly googled it and got hit with a massive nostalgia wave. I joined the day I turned 15 in 2007...I’m 26 now. Fuck. Even though I don’t post here very often and never really was part of the group that knew each o...

Re: Video Game Bonanza!

The Witcher 3 is absolutely my favorite game of all time, I've been playing it nonstop since I got it, probably finished it 7 or 8 times, including expansions. CDProjektRed are absolute geniuses and I can't wait for Cyberpunk 2077, it's my most anticipated game release in years.

Re: AB VI Speculation

As long as they kind of have a 'bounce back' album, I'll be happy. I didn't dislike The Last Hero, there are a few songs I really love, but as far as overall quality is concerned, it was definitely a couple of steps down from the previous four. They seem to have a cycle, though, at least in my opini...

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine

This is, perhaps, the first time that Mark Tremonti (solo, Creed, or AB) released a song that was almost completely uninspiring in any way. There is absolutely nothing special about As the Silence Becomes Me. There are no hooks whatsoever. I said "almost completely uninspiring" because I ...

So far I’ve liked every song, each one a bit more than the last. Love how energetic the song is, and the chorus is awesome.

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine

I love this song, actually enjoyed it more than A Dying Machine. It’s fast, upbeat, and catchy but still has insane riffs and guitar work, and holy fuck, Marks voice is incredible here. Song reminds me of stuff like the title track on ODR, which I also love.

Re: Myles Kennedy - "Year of the Tiger"

Is it just me or does Myles voice sound better on this album than it did on The Last Hero? I still love TLH but he came off sort of nasally in chunks of that record but he sounds much smoother here. His voice is like butter in Love Can Only Heal.

Re: Best Night of My Life

I feel you about time. I joined in 2007 right before Blackbird dropped. I was 15 but it still feels like yesterday that I was getting hyped over leaked Blackbird clips with everyone else. Ever since I graduated high school I feel like I'm trapped in a time warp and before I know it I'll be an old ma...

Re: The long time member

I started a few months before Blackbird was released. I honestly can't believe how fast time has flown by. I was 15 when I joined and now I'm 25, where the hell did the years go?! I still get nostalgic about that time, 2007 was a great year.

That's a nice group of songs. Rise Today has one of Marks best solos, and Ghosts really shouldn't be on here either, same with I Know It Hurts.

Re: Best Alter Bridge Album

For me I'd say it's: Fortress>=Blackbird>The Last Hero>ABIII>=ODR And I've been a fan since day 1 following Mark, Flip, and Brian over from Creed...so not all older fans like ODR the most. Agreed, my exact order. I love ODR, but it's basically a rough draft of what the band would become once Myles ...

Re: Best Alter Bridge Album

Agreed. It's still their best album all the way through. The first four songs are the best grouping of songs I've ever heard. Not a weak track there. The first four tracks from Fortress easily beat those from Blackbird. CTL and BNS are amazing, TTB is really good as well, but they're all not as goo...
